The red and black wires are the voltmeter supply leads. It must be powered with a supply between 4.5 / 30V. If you apply a voltage above 30V the product will be damaged. The red wire is the positive lead, the black wire is the ground connection point. The white wire is the voltage measuring lead. Measurement can be made between 0V / 30V. If you use the Red and White wires joined together, you can measure between 4.5V / 30V. It has reverse connection protection.
