Aluminum Pcb 6 Led Lamp Lighting Light

     The 5730 5V 3W white led module is a small lighting board made of 6 pieces of 5730 SMD LEDs arranged on a 31mm ring shaped aluminum PCB, giving a natural white light. Thanks to its natural white light it is preferred in jobs that need clear white light, such as desk and reading lamps, cabinet interiors, showcase and work area lighting.

     The board works with DC 5V and draws about 3W at 5V (about 600mA). Since there are current limiting resistors on the board, it can be powered from fixed 5V sources such as a USB output, a 5V adapter or a powerbank. The connection is made by soldering wires to the solder pads marked + and - on the front side.

     The aluminum base spreads the heat of the LEDs; the board can be fixed to a heat sink surface or a metal luminaire body with screws through its two mounting holes or with thermal adhesive. The 10mm hole in the middle can be used for a cable or screw passage. The same family also has a yellow light 3W version and a 20 LED 10W white version.

Usage information:

• Solder the red (+) wire to the + pad of the board and the black (-) wire to the - pad; if the polarity is reversed the LEDs do not light and are stressed at their reverse voltage limit (5V); check the wiring before applying power.
• Fix the board to a heat sink surface or a metal luminaire body with screws through the two mounting holes or with thermal paste / thermal adhesive.
• Since the board draws about 600mA, if you switch it on and off or dim it from a control circuit, drive the board through a logic level MOSFET or transistor, not directly from a control pin.

Points to consider:

•  The board is for DC 5V only. Do not connect a voltage higher than 5V (such as 9V or 12V); the current rises quickly and the LEDs and resistors will burn.
•  The board draws about 600mA. A computer USB 2.0 port (500mA) may not be enough; use a 5V adapter or powerbank that supplies at least 1A.
•  For long operation mount the board on a heat sink surface or a metal body; a board run in the air without heat spreading gets hot and the LED life is shortened.
•  Do not look directly at the lit LEDs from close up for a long time.
