4 Channel 433Mhz Transmitter TX118A
Wireless Communication 25-100meter EV1527 Remote Control
The TX118A is a small RF transmitter (remote control transmitter) module with 4 key inputs, transmitting in the 433MHz band. When one of the K1, K2, K3 and K4 inputs on the board is pulled to ground (-) by a button or a control circuit, the module sends the EV1527 code of that input wirelessly. This adds 4 channel wireless sending to your own remote, panel or device.
It operates on DC 3.3V - 5V and draws 10mA while transmitting and less than 3µA in standby; for this reason it can be used in battery powered remotes. The transmitter power is 11dBm and the modulation is ASK; the 13.560MHz crystal on the board provides the 433.92MHz transmit frequency. Each module has its own ID address code (EV1527, 20 bit); the chance of mixing with other transmitters in the same environment is very low. There is an indicator LED on the board.
This listing is for the transmitter only; a receiver that can learn the EV1527 code is needed to receive the signal. When used together with the RX480-E 4 channel learning receiver, the 4 inputs of the transmitter control the 4 outputs of the receiver separately. For the antenna, a 24cm copper wire is wound as a spiral and soldered to the ANT pin.
Key features:
4 independent channels: The K1-K4 inputs send separate key codes; it works like the 4 keys of a remote and controls 4 separate outputs on the receiver.
EV1527 code with module ID: Each module has a different ID address code; receivers that learn EV1527 codes recognize this transmitter; the chance of mixing with other transmitters in the same environment is very low.
Very low standby current: It draws less than 3µA in standby and 10mA while transmitting; it saves the battery for a long time in battery powered remote and sensor circuits.
Simple connection: One end of the button is connected to the K input and the other end to the - (GND) pin; the encoder IC is on the board, no extra circuit is needed.
Crystal controlled 433.92MHz: The 13.560MHz crystal keeps the transmit frequency stable; it is compatible with 433MHz learning receivers.
Features:
- Product type: 4 channel 433MHz RF transmitter module (transmitter only)
- Model: TX118A
- Frequency: 433MHz (433.92MHz; 13.560MHz crystal on the board)
- Encoding: EV1527 learning code; separate ID address code in each module
- Number of channels: 4 (K1, K2, K3, K4 inputs)
- Triggering: the code of a channel is transmitted when its K input is pulled to ground (-)
- Operating voltage: DC 3.3V - 5V
- Transmitter power: 11dBm
- Modulation: ASK
- Operating current: 10mA (while transmitting)
- Standby current: less than 3µA
- Range: depends on antenna, receiver, supply and environment; about 15m with the RX480-E receiver
- Indicator: On-board LED
- Pins: ANT antenna, K1-K4 key inputs, + supply (DC 3.3V - 5V), - ground (GND)
- Antenna: 24cm copper wire wound as a spiral and soldered to the ANT pin
- Compatible receivers: RX480-E 4 channel learning receiver and 433MHz receivers that learn EV1527 codes
- Material: Green PCB, 7 pin male pin header
- Dimensions: about 18mm x 18mm
Usage information:
- Apply the supply to the + and - pins (DC 3.3V - 5V). Connect one end of each button to one of the K1-K4 inputs and the other end to the - (GND) pin; the code of that channel is transmitted as long as the button is pressed.
- To trigger it from a control circuit, pull the K input to ground with the output of a circuit running on the same supply or with a transistor.
- For the antenna, wind a 24cm copper wire as a spiral, solder it to the ANT pin and keep it away from metal surfaces.
- Pairing with the RX480-E receiver: press the learning button of the receiver 1 time (momentary), 2 times (self-locking) or 3 times (interlocking); when the LED lights, trigger any K input on the transmitter. Learning is complete when the receiver LED flashes 3 times.
Areas of use:
- Garage door and garden gate remote control
- Roller shutter, blind and curtain motor control
- Socket and lighting on - off
- Device control with a relay board
- Alarm system arming - disarming and panic button
- Light and LED strip control
- Toy car and model vehicle remote control
- Home automation and wireless wall buttons
- Custom wireless remotes and control panels
Precautions:
- This product is a transmitter only; the receiver module is not included in the package. A 433MHz receiver that can learn the EV1527 code (e.g. RX480-E) is needed to receive the signal; it does not work with receivers that cannot learn EV1527.
- The supply voltage is DC 3.3V - 5V; do not apply a voltage above this range.
- Without an antenna the range drops sharply. The range depends on the antenna, receiver, supply voltage and environment (walls, metal); at 3.3V supply the transmit power and range are lower than at 5V.
- EV1527 is a fixed ID code system, not a rolling code; do not use it as the only security measure on locks and doors that need high security.
