ON OFF 1A 250V Mini Round Waterproof Switch Momentary Switch

     The PBS-33B is a 2-pin mini push button with a yellow dome cap that fits a 12mm panel hole. It works momentarily: the contact is normally open (NO), it closes as long as the button is held down, and when released it returns with a spring and the circuit opens again. The switching rating is 1A at 250V AC and 3A at 125V AC.

     The body has an M12x0.75 thread; it is inserted into the panel from the front and tightened from behind with a metal ring and a metal nut, and it fits panels up to about 3mm thick. The 2 flat metal terminals at the back are suitable for soldering a cable or plugging on a flat (faston) cable terminal. The black plastic bezel is about 17.5mm in diameter, the height without the terminals is about 18mm (the terminals extend about 3.6mm more), and it weighs about 4gr.

     The yellow cap stands out on a panel; as a warning, test, hold or second function button it is easily told apart from red (stop) and green (start) buttons. The same button is also available with black, red, blue, green and white caps; control panels can be organized by using a different colour for different functions.

Usage information:

• Drill a 12mm hole in the panel. Remove the nut and the ring, insert the button from the front of the panel, fit the ring and the nut from behind and tighten by hand; do not overtighten the nut and strain the plastic thread.
• The button has no polarity; connect its 2 terminals in series in the line to be switched. The line is closed as long as the button is held down.
• If you solder, solder the terminal quickly; long heating can soften the plastic body. Insulate the solder joints with heat shrink tubing.

Precautions:

•  This button works momentarily and does not latch in the pressed position; if an on-off (latching) switch is needed, use a latching type button.
•  Do not exceed the limit of 1A at 250V AC and 3A at 125V AC; switch high current loads such as motors and heaters through a relay or contactor, not directly.
•  It is listed as "waterproof" by sellers, but no IP protection class is specified; do not use it where it is directly exposed to water and rain.
•  When used with mains voltage the terminals are open to touch; insulate behind the panel and make the connection with the power off.
