ON OFF 1A 250V Mini Round Waterproof Switch Momentary Switch

     This product is the black dome cap 12mm PBS-33B mini push button with a 20cm cable already attached. Red and black 20cm wires are soldered to the 2 terminals of the button and the solder joints are insulated with heat shrink tubing; it can be connected directly to a circuit, a terminal block or another cable without soldering. The wire colours make it easy to tell the two ends apart during connection.

     The button works momentarily: the contact is normally open (NO), it closes as long as the button is held down, and when released it returns with a spring and the circuit opens again. The switching rating is 1A at 250V AC and 3A at 125V AC. The body has an M12x0.75 thread; it is inserted into a 12mm panel hole from the front and tightened with a metal nut from behind, and it fits panels up to about 3mm thick.

     The black plastic bezel is about 17.5mm in diameter and the button height without the terminals is about 18mm. The same button is also available without cable with black, red, yellow, blue, green and white caps; the cable version is chosen for installations without soldering and for quick setup.

Usage information:

• Drill a 12mm hole in the panel. Remove the nut, pass the cable and the button through from the front of the panel, slide the nut over the cable and tighten it by hand from behind; do not overtighten the nut and strain the plastic thread.
• The button has no polarity; connect the red and black wires in series in the line to be switched. The line is closed as long as the button is held down. You can connect the wire ends to a terminal block or join them to another cable and insulate with heat shrink tubing.
• Do not strain the cable by pulling or bending it at the back of the button; the solder joint may break. Secure the cable behind the panel with a cable tie or tape.

Precautions:

•  This button works momentarily and does not latch in the pressed position; if an on-off (latching) switch is needed, use a latching type button.
•  1A 250V AC / 3A 125V AC is the contact rating of the button; the wire cross section is not specified. Switch loads through a relay or contactor, not directly through this cable; the button is used in the control (signal) line.
•  It is listed as "waterproof" by sellers, but no IP protection class is specified; do not use it where it is directly exposed to water and rain.
•  The wire ends come bare; make the connection with the power off and insulate the bare ends with heat shrink tubing or a terminal block.
