     The 5730 12V 3W White Led Module is a round light board made of 6 pieces of 5730 SMD LEDs arranged on a ring shaped aluminum PCB with a 32mm outer diameter. It is a 12V class board; it works at about 200mA with a constant current LED driver and gives white light close to daylight with a 5000K colour temperature. On the front side there are two solder pads marked + and -, a 10mm through hole in the centre and 3 pieces of mounting holes around it.

     The base of the board is aluminum; the heat generated by the LEDs is transferred through this base to a heatsink surface or to a metal fixture body. There is no current limiting resistor on the board, so it must be driven with an LED driver (constant current source). It is suitable for replacing the light board of failed LED bulbs and spots, for building recessed spots and small ceiling fixtures, or as a compact light source for showcase and cabinet lighting.

     What separates it from the 5V boards of the same family is its 12V supply and 32mm diameter; it is not meant for 5V USB supply. The 10mm hole in the centre lets a cable or a fixture screw pass through the middle of the board.

     Easy mounting: The board is screwed to the fixture through 3 pieces of mounting holes; a cable or screw can pass through the 10mm centre hole.

     Front side connection: The supply wires are soldered to the + and - marked pads on the front side; the back stays flat and sits fully on the surface.

Usage information:

• Connect the board to an LED driver that supplies about 200mA constant current and whose output voltage range covers 12V. Solder the + end of the driver to the + pad of the board and the - end to the - pad; check the polarity before applying power.
• Fix the board to a heatsink surface or a metal fixture body by screwing it through the 3 mounting holes or with thermal paste / thermal adhesive; make sure the back side sits fully on the surface.
• When replacing the board of a failed bulb or spot, check the diameter, voltage and driver output of the old board; this board is suitable for 32mm diameter and 12V.

Precautions:

•  There is no current limiting resistor on the board. Do not connect it directly to a 12V adapter or battery without current limiting; use an LED driver (constant current source).
•  This board is for 12V; it is not suitable for use with 5V USB or a powerbank. If you need a board that works with 5V, choose the 5V version.
•  For long operation, mount the board on a heatsink surface or a metal body; a board operated in the air without heat dissipation heats up and LED life is shortened.
•  Do not connect the polarity reversed; check the + and - connection before applying power.
•  Do not look directly at the lit LEDs from close up for a long time.
