Male Type C to Dip Socket 4 Pin USB 3.1
Smd Solderable Pads Connector Phone Charging Board Usb Cable Flash Disk
This product is a male USB Type-C plug mounted (soldered) on a small circuit board. The plug pins are gathered into 4 wide solder pads on the board: G (GND), D+, D- and V (VBUS supply). Since the pads are wide, the cable wires are soldered onto them easily; a Type-C ended cable can be made or a broken cable end replaced without dealing with fine SMD pins. The board is about 8mm x 16mm in size and weighs 0.5gr.
The pads give access to the supply (V, G) and the USB 2.0 data lines (D+, D-); the USB 3.x high speed lines and the CC line are not brought out to the pads. The plug is reversible and fits the device in both orientations. The contact rating is DC 20V 3A maximum ( not 60W! ). The plastic holder keeps the metal shell together with the board; after soldering, covering it with heat shrink tubing or a housing gives a solid cable end.
Key features:
Wide solder pads: The 4 pads (G, D+, D-, V) are labelled on the board; since the pads are wide, the wires are easily soldered with an iron, without dealing with fine pins.
Supply and USB 2.0 data: The supply connects to the V and G pads, the USB 2.0 data line to the D+ and D- pads; it suits charging and data cable making.
Plug already mounted: The male Type-C plug comes soldered to the board; there is no need to solder the fine pins of a 24 pin plug one by one.
Takes little space: About 8mm x 16mm and 0.5gr; it takes little space at the cable end or inside a device.
Reversible insertion: The Type-C plug is reversible and fits the device in both orientations.

Usage information:
- Solder the supply wire of the cable to the V pad, the ground wire to the G pad and the data wires to the D+ and D- pads. The pad names are printed on the board; since wire colours vary from cable to cable, verify each wire with a multimeter before soldering.
- After soldering, check with a multimeter that there is no short between V and G; then cover the solder joints with heat shrink tubing or hot glue and secure the cable against pulling.
- If you use it for supply only, the D+ and D- pads can be left free; in a data cable keep the D+ and D- wires short and close to each other.
Areas of use:
- Making USB-A to Type-C charging and data cables of custom length
- Repairing a broken or loose Type-C cable end
- Short charging cables for phones and tablets
- Supply cable from a powerbank USB output to a Type-C device
- Supply cables for Type-C input speakers, lamps and fans
- 5V supply and USB 2.0 data connection from your own circuit to a Type-C input device
- Current measurement and test fixtures for Type-C input devices
- Short Type-C interconnects inside enclosures and panels
Precautions:
- The contact rating is DC 20V 3A maximum, not 60W. Since the CC line is not brought out, no high voltage fast charging (PD) negotiation takes place; the cable is used as a 5V USB line.
- Type-C output chargers and power banks may not give output without seeing a resistor on the CC line. Use the plug at the end of a cable coming from a USB-A output source and test the cable you made on your device.
- Swapping the V and G wires damages the connected device; check the cable wires before soldering and the short circuit after soldering with a multimeter.
- This product is only the plug and board; there is no cable and no outer housing. Using it without covering the solder joints can break a wire or cause a short circuit.
