     The 4 Pin Type C Usb Extension Cable Black is a black, round body Type-C female socket that mounts in the wall of a box or enclosure. The Vusb, GND, D+ and D- pins of the socket are brought out with 4 wires (red, black, blue, white), so both the 5V supply and the USB 2.0 data line are carried to the circuit inside the box. A 4 pin PH2.0 female connector with 2mm pitch is fitted at the end of the 15cm cable.

     Thanks to the flexible latches on the sides of the body, the socket is pushed into a 12.5mm panel hole from the front and locks itself in place; no screw or nut is needed. The front face is 14.5mm, the length is 16.7mm and it weighs 5gr. The PH2.0 connector plugs into a 4 pin PH2.0 male header on the board without soldering; when the board is changed the cable is easily removed.

     It is suitable for bringing the USB connection of a board placed in a box to the outside, programming without opening the box, or adding a Type-C input to USB devices such as keyboards, mice and gamepads. For charge only applications, the 2 Pin Type C Usb Extension Cable with the same body and 2 wires is enough.

Usage information:

• Drill a 12.5mm hole in the wall of the box or enclosure. Push the socket into the hole from the front; the socket is fixed when the latches seat behind the wall.
• Before connecting, check which of the four wires is Vusb, GND, D+ and D- on the socket with the continuity range of a multimeter; if the pin order of the PH2.0 header on your board is different, rearrange the pins in the connector.
• If the board has no PH2.0 header, you can cut the connector and solder the wires directly to the board; keep the D+ and D- wires short and close to each other.

Precautions:

•  The data line is USB 2.0 (D+ / D-). The extra lines needed for high speed USB 3.x data and video output, and the CC line needed for USB PD fast charge negotiation, are not present in this product.
•  The electrical rating is 20V 3A maximum; it is not suitable for 5A or 100W. A charger normally supplies 5V; if a circuit that requests fast charging (QC) over the D+ / D- lines is connected, 9V or 12V may appear, so choose the 5V input circuit accordingly.
•  The data wires are blue and white; they do not follow the USB standard colors (green D+, white D-). Do not connect by color, verify the pins by measuring.
•  It has not been verified that the socket contains CC (5.1k) resistors. Without CC resistors, Type-C to Type-C cables and Type-C (PD) chargers do not detect the connection and supply no 5V; in that case use a USB-A to Type-C cable.
•  Do not drill the panel hole larger than 12.5mm; the latches will not hold and the socket will slip inside.
