     The 2 Pin Type C Usb Extension Cable 10cm Black is a black, oval-bodied Type-C female charging socket that mounts in the wall of a box or enclosure. Two 10cm wires come out of the back of the socket: red Vusb (+) and black GND (-). A white 2-pin PH2.0 (2mm pitch) female connector is fitted at the end of the wires; the socket plugs without soldering into a circuit board that has a 2-pin PH2.0 male header. This product is for power (charging) only; it has no data lines (D+ / D-).

     Thanks to the flexible latches on the sides of the body, the socket is pushed from the front into a 6mm x 15mm rectangular panel hole and locks itself in place; no screw or nut is needed. Its front face is about 15.8mm x 9mm and it weighs 2.5gr. The flat oval body fits thin-walled and narrow boxes; the device is powered or charged from outside with a USB-A - Type-C cable.

     It is suitable for adding a Type-C charging input to boxed devices that need no data, such as powerbanks, lamps, flashlights, toys, speakers and fans. If a soldered connection is wanted, the 2 Pin Type C Usb Extension Cable (15cm) with tinned leads should be chosen; if data lines are needed too, the 4 Pin Type C Usb Extension Cable should be chosen.

Usage information:

• Cut a 6mm x 15mm rectangular hole in the wall of the box or enclosure. Push the socket into the hole from the front; the socket is fixed when the latches seat at the back.
• Plug the PH2.0 connector into the 2-pin PH2.0 male header on the circuit board. Before plugging in, check with a multimeter that the + and - pins of the board match the red (+) and black (-) wires; reverse connection can damage the circuit.
• If your board has no PH2.0 header, you can cut off the connector, strip the wire ends and solder them to the 5V (+) and GND (-) input of the circuit; insulate the bare metal with heat shrink tubing.

Precautions:

•  This product has no data line. If data transfer with a computer, programming or a USB device connection is needed, the 4 Pin Type C Usb Extension Cable should be used.
•  The electrical rating is 20V 3A maximum; it is not suitable for 5A and 100W. Since there are no data and CC lines, no fast charge negotiation can take place; only 5V comes from a USB charger. If a supply other than 5V is connected, the circuit input must be suitable for that voltage.
•  It has not been verified that there is a CC (5.1k) resistor inside the socket. Without a CC resistor, Type-C - Type-C cables and Type-C output (PD) chargers do not recognise the connection and give no 5V; in that case use a USB-A - Type-C cable.
•  The + and - pin order of PH2.0 headers varies from board to board. Check the polarity before plugging in; the socket is only a mechanical extension and has no reverse polarity or short circuit protection.
•  Do not cut the panel hole larger than 6mm x 15mm; the latches will not hold and the socket will slip inside. The hole is rectangular, not round; the front face is oval but the rear body is square-edged.
