     The 2 Pin Type C Usb Extension Cable is a black, round body Type-C female charging socket that mounts in the wall of a box or enclosure. Only 2 wires come out of the back of the socket: red Vusb (+) and black GND (-). The cable is 15cm long and its ends are stripped and tinned, ready for soldering. This product is for power (charging) only; it has no data lines (D+ / D-), so no data can be transferred between the connected device and a computer.

     Thanks to the flexible latches on the sides of the body, the socket is pushed into a 12.5mm panel hole from the front and locks itself in place; no screw or nut is needed. The front face is 14.5mm, the length is 16.7mm and it weighs 4gr. The two wires are soldered to the 5V supply input of the circuit inside the box, and the device is then powered or charged from outside with a USB-A to Type-C cable.

     It is suitable for adding an external Type-C charging input to boxed devices that need no data, such as powerbanks, speakers, lamps, flashlights, toys and robots. For applications that also need the data lines, the 4 Pin Type C Usb Extension Cable with the same body (Vusb / GND / D+ / D-) should be chosen.

Key features:

     Power only, 2 wires: The Vusb and GND pins of the socket are brought out to a red and a black wire. With no data lines the connection is simple; the two wires are soldered to the + and - input of the circuit.

     Snap-in mounting: It is pushed into a 12.5mm panel hole from the front; the flexible latches on the body seat behind the hole and hold the socket in place. No screw, nut or glue is needed.

Usage information:

• Drill a 12.5mm hole in the wall of the box or enclosure. Push the socket into the hole from the front; the socket is fixed when the latches seat behind the wall.
• Solder the red wire to the 5V (+) input of the circuit and the black wire to the GND (-) input. Reverse connection can damage the circuit; check the polarity before soldering.
• After soldering the wire ends, slide heat shrink tubing over them to insulate the bare metal parts.

Precautions:

•  This product has no data lines. If data transfer with a computer, programming or a USB device connection is needed, the 4 Pin Type C Usb Extension Cable should be used.
•  The electrical rating is 20V 3A maximum; it is not suitable for 5A or 100W. With no data and CC lines no fast charge negotiation can take place; a USB charger supplies only 5V. If a supply other than 5V is connected, the circuit input must suit that voltage.
•  The socket is only a mechanical extension; it contains no protection (fuse, reverse polarity diode). Provide short circuit and reverse connection protection in your circuit.
•  It has not been verified that the socket contains CC (5.1k) resistors. Without CC resistors, Type-C to Type-C cables and Type-C (PD) chargers do not detect the connection and supply no 5V; in that case use a USB-A to Type-C cable.
•  Do not drill the panel hole larger than 12.5mm; the latches will not hold and the socket will slip inside.
