1.27mm Pitch 15cm 150mm 10 Pin IDC Flat Ribbon Cable
Programming Data Debug Cable JTAG SWD ISP AVR ARM Usb Asp
This cable is suitable for use with 1.27mm sockets!!
The 1.27mm 2x5 IDC 15cm cable is a 150mm long 10 pin programming and data cable. The distance between 2 pins of this cable is 1.27mm; therefore it is suitable for use with 1.27mm sockets and does not fit 2.54mm pitch sockets. There is a 2x5 pin female IDC socket at both ends of the cable. It is used for programming, debug or data transfer operations.
The sockets match the 10 pin 1.27mm (0.05") Cortex Debug (SWD / JTAG) layout; the cable connects the 10 pin 1.27mm debug socket of the board directly to a programmer with a 10 pin 1.27mm output such as the J-Link EDU Mini. The ribbon has 10 wires with a 0.635mm wire pitch; the cable print on the product image is 30AWG, 150V, 105°C. The 15cm length keeps the programmer close to the board.
The red striped wire of the grey flat ribbon cable marks pin 1; the polarizing key on the sockets prevents reversed plugging on keyed (shrouded) headers. The cable is straight through: pin 1 at one end goes to pin 1 at the other end.
Features:
- Product type: 1.27mm pitch 10 pin IDC flat ribbon cable
- Model: 1.27mm 2x5 IDC 15cm Cable
- Socket: 1.27mm 10 Pin IDC socket, 2x5 pin; female at both ends (female-female)
- Pin pitch: 1.27mm (0.05")
- Number of wires: 10 wires
- Cable pitch: 0.635mm
- Connection standard: 10 pin ARM Cortex Debug (SWD / JTAG)
- Polarizing key: Key on the sockets; prevents reversed plugging on keyed (shrouded) headers
- Pin 1 marking: Red striped wire
- Connection type: Straight through; pin 1 goes to pin 1 at the other end.
- Compatible programmers: J-Link EDU Mini, Black Magic Probe Mini and programmers with a 10 pin 1.27mm Cortex Debug output
- Compatible boards: STM32, nRF52, SAMD and other ARM Cortex-M boards with a 10 pin 1.27mm debug socket
- Use: Programming, debug and data transfer
- Cable: Flat ribbon cable; 30AWG, 150V, 105°C (cable print on the product image)
- Color: Grey cable / Black socket
- Cable width: about 6mm
- Cable Length: 15cm (150mm)
- Weight: about 2gr
Usage information:
- Before plugging the cable, find pin 1 on the board and on the programmer (usually a triangle, dot or "1" mark next to the socket); plug the cable so that the red striped wire goes to pin 1.
- 10 pin Cortex Debug pinout: 1 VTref, 2 SWDIO/TMS, 3 GND, 4 SWCLK/TCK, 5 GND, 6 SWO/TDO, 7 empty (key), 8 TDI (NC), 9 GND (GNDDetect), 10 nRESET. SWD needs pins 1 (VTref), 2 (SWDIO), 3 (GND) and 4 (SWCLK); connecting 10 (nRESET) is recommended.
- Make the connection with the power off. Since the cable is straight through, pin 1 of the programmer goes to pin 1 of the board; on a keyed (shrouded) header the polarizing key on the socket seats the cable in the right direction.
Application areas:
- SWD programming on ARM Cortex-M boards
- Debugging: step by step debug over JTAG
- STM32 development boards
- nRF52 Bluetooth boards
- SAMD boards
- J-Link and Black Magic Probe programmer connection
- Data and signal transfer: 10 pin connection between boards
- 1.27mm connector connection in devices with limited space
- Embedded systems education and laboratory work
Precautions:
- This cable is only suitable for use with 1.27mm sockets. It does not fit 10 pin sockets with 2.54mm (0.1") pitch (e.g. the USBasp and AVR ISP 10 pin socket).
- Do not plug the cable reversed; on open pin headers without a key slot, check that the red striped wire goes to pin 1. If plugged in reversed, VTref goes to the reset pin and signal pins such as SWDIO and SWO go to GND; the board or the programmer can be damaged.
- The flat cable has thin wires; it is only for signal and debug, do not use it to carry high current.
- When removing the socket, pull it by the socket body, not by the cable; the IDC crimp connection can be damaged by pulling the cable.
