Plastic Mini On Off On / Off   6A 250V 10A 125V Latch Latching Rocker Switch

     This product is a black, 2 pin KCD1 type round rocker on/off switch with a 23mm front bezel. The side of the body is printed "KCD1 6A 250V AC 10A 125V AC": it switches resistive loads up to 6A on 250V AC mains and up to 10A on 125V AC. It is a single pole ON-OFF (SPST) switch; pressing the "I" side closes the circuit and powers the device, pressing the "O" side opens the circuit. The rocker stays in the pressed position and does not spring back.

     The switch is pushed in from the front through a round hole of approximately 20mm; the spring latches on both sides of the body snap behind the panel, no screw or nut is needed. Wires are soldered to the 2 flat metal terminals with holes at the back. It is an unlit type. Total height from the rocker to the end of the terminals is 29.5mm and the weight is approximately 4gr; it is used as the on/off switch of lamps, fans, speakers, aquariums and small appliances. The 16mm round switch for smaller panel holes is a separate product.

Usage information:

• Drill a hole of approximately 20mm in the panel. Push the switch in from the front; it is fixed when the side latches snap behind the panel. Check the hole diameter against the switch body before mounting.
• Wire the switch in series with the live (L) line of the device: the mains wire goes to one terminal, the wire to the device to the other. Insulate the terminals with heat shrink tubing after soldering.
• Pressing the "I" side closes the circuit and the device runs; pressing the "O" side opens the circuit.

Precautions:

•  The 6A 250V AC and 10A 125V AC ratings are for resistive loads. With motors, transformers, compressors and in DC circuits the current the switch can carry is lower than these values; keep the current low with such loads. For long life, keeping the continuous current at no more than half the rating is recommended.
•  On 230V mains the 6A limit means approximately 1380W; do not use it with high power appliances such as heaters, kettles or irons.
•  Make the connections with the power off; do not leave terminals carrying mains voltage exposed, insulate them with heat shrink or a closed enclosure.
•  If the panel hole is too large the side latches will not hold and the switch will come out; drill the hole small and enlarge it with a file if needed.
•  It is an unlit switch; there is no lamp showing the on position.
