     The 6mm Aluminum Potentiometer Knob is a control knob with a black coated aluminum body that fits potentiometers and rotary encoders with a 6mm knurled (splined) shaft. The silver ring on the edge of the top face and the silver indicator line show the position of the knob from a distance. Because the outer surface of the body is grooved (knurled), it is gripped comfortably with the fingers and turns without slipping.

     Inside the aluminum outer body there is a ribbed plastic insert; the knob is pressed onto the shaft, no screw or glue is needed. It is listed by sellers as 15x17mm; the product measures 14.4mm diameter x 16.5mm height and weighs about 2.5gr. Usage information:

• Turn the potentiometer or encoder to the far left (lowest) position. Align the knob on the shaft so that the indicator line points to the start mark on your panel and push it straight all the way down.
• To remove the knob, hold it by its sides and pull it straight up; do not pry it with a screwdriver, the shaft knurling and the plastic insert may be damaged.
• Leave a small gap between the panel and the knob; the knob turns without rubbing on the panel.
