     The 0.56 inch AC 70V-500V Red Voltmeter is a panel type digital voltmeter that shows alternating current (AC) mains voltage on a 3 digit, 0.56 inch red LED display. It works with 2 wires: no extra supply is needed, it takes its own power from the voltage it measures. Connecting the red and black wires to the live and neutral ends of the line to be measured is enough; 220V household mains and 380V phase to phase voltage are inside the measuring range.

     The black plastic framed body is 48mm x 29mm in size and snaps into a window of about 46mm x 27mm cut in the panel with its side clips. The measuring accuracy is around ±1%; with the adjustment potentiometer on the product the displayed value can be calibrated against a reference meter. It is suitable for places where mains voltage must be monitored continuously, such as electrical panels and generator, transformer and regulator outputs.

     This product is for AC voltage only. It does not measure DC voltage and does not work below 70V; a DC voltmeter should be chosen for measuring DC batteries or power supplies.

Usage information:

• Switch off the line before making the connection. Connect the red wire to live (L) and the black wire to neutral (N); for 380V measurement the two wires are connected to two phases. Connect the wire ends with a terminal block or insulated joint and do not leave any bare conductor.
• Cut a window of about 46mm x 27mm in the panel and push the voltmeter into the window from the front; the side clips hold the body in the panel.
• If the displayed value differs from the reference measurement, turn the adjustment potentiometer on the product slowly with a small screwdriver to match the value with a multimeter; do not touch live parts during adjustment.

Precautions:

•  The product works with mains voltage. Make the connection only when the power is off; the wires and the back of the product carry an electric shock hazard while operating. Mount the product inside an insulated panel or box.
•  The input voltage must not exceed AC 500V; voltage above 500V permanently damages the product. According to seller notes the best operating range is 70V-380V; do not use it continuously at voltages close to the 500V limit.
•  This voltmeter is for AC voltage only; it does not measure DC voltage and does not work below 70V. Use a DC voltmeter for batteries or DC power supplies.
•  If you have no experience with electrical installation, have the connection made by an electrician.
