EMAX ES08MA II 12gr Analog Servo Motor
Mini Metal Gear 1.8kgcm Torque RC Airplane Drone Robot Arm Car Boat Flight Direction Control
The EMAX ES08MA II is an EMAX branded, 12gr metal gear analog mini servo motor. With its 23mm x 11.5mm x 24mm body it fits mini servo mounts. It operates between 4.8V - 6.0V; it gives 1.6kg.cm torque at 4.8V and 2.0kg.cm at 6.0V, and turns 60 degrees in 0.12sec at 4.8V and 0.10sec at 6.0V.
The gear train is metal; when a control surface hits an obstacle or the mechanism is strained under load, the risk of a broken or stripped gear is lower than in plastic gear mini servos. A Nobile potentiometer is used for position sensing; the servo goes to the commanded angle and holds that position under load. It is fixed with the screw tabs on both sides of the black plastic case.
The 3-pin Futaba / JR compatible connector at the end of the about 25cm cable plugs directly into RC receivers and servo driver boards. The package contains 4 different servo horns and screws; the servo can be fitted right away to RC airplane control surfaces, robot arm joints, pan-tilt mechanisms and the steering of model vehicles.
Key features:
Metal gear train: Metal gears transmit the motor power to the shaft; under impact and sudden load the risk of breakage and wear is lower than with plastic gears.
12gr mini body: With a 23mm x 11.5mm x 24mm body and 12gr it adds little load to light RC airplanes and small robot joints.
Holds its position: Position feedback with a Nobile potentiometer brings the shaft to the commanded angle and holds it under load; it gives 2.0kg.cm torque at 6.0V.
Fast response: It turns 60 degrees in 0.10sec at 6.0V and 0.12sec at 4.8V; it responds quickly on aileron and rudder control.
Ready connection and horns: The Futaba / JR compatible 3-pin connector plugs directly into a receiver or servo driver; 4 servo horns and screws are in the package.

Usage information:
- Connect the brown wire to GND, the red wire to a 4.8V - 6.0V supply and the orange wire to the servo (PWM) output of the receiver or control board. If you use a separate supply, connect the supply GND to the GND of the control board.
- Before fitting the servo horn, bring the servo to the center position; center the suitable horn (disc, cross, double arm or single arm) in this position and fix it to the shaft with its small screw.
- Fix the servo by the tabs on both sides of the case with the included screws; set the travel by inserting the pushrod into a suitable hole of the horn.
Application areas:
- RC airplane and glider aileron, elevator and rudder control
- RC helicopter control linkages
- Camera and release mechanisms on drones and quadcopters
- Robot arm and gripper joints
- Camera pan-tilt mechanisms
- Model car and boat steering
- Walking and humanoid robot joints
- Automatic lid, latch and small lock mechanisms
- Solar tracking and sensor pointing mechanisms
- Scale models and moving figures
Precautions:
- This product is the 4.8V - 6.0V version (not the HV version). Do not connect it directly to a supply above 6.0V such as a 2S LiPo (7.4V); the servo will be damaged.
- This is an angular position servo and does not rotate 360 degrees continuously; a continuous rotation servo is needed to drive a wheel.
- If you use more than one servo, power them from a separate supply with enough current, not from the 5V pin of the control board.
- Do not turn the servo shaft by force; a servo pushed against its mechanical limit or stalled for a long time heats up and the gears may be damaged.
