     Hanrun HR911105A is a single port RJ45 Ethernet socket with a built-in Ethernet transformer (magnetics) and two indicator LEDs. It is made for 10/100Mbps (10/100Base-T) Ethernet lines; the 8P8C female socket is right angled at 90 degrees, so the cable enters parallel to the board surface. The socket is soldered to the board by through hole (THT / DIP) mounting; it is used as a single part instead of a separate transformer, common mode choke and indicator LED, which saves board space and part count.

     The green and yellow LEDs on the front are connected to the link and data (activity) outputs of the Ethernet IC and show the status of the line. The silver metal shell shields the socket against external interference; the shell carries the print "HanRun HR911105A". There is 1500Vrms isolation between the cable side and the circuit side. It is widely used on boards built with 10/100 Ethernet ICs such as ENC28J60, W5500, LAN8720, DP83848 and RTL8201, and it is also preferred for replacing a failed RJ45 socket.

Usage information:

• Connect the TX and RX line pairs of the Ethernet IC, the transformer centre taps and the LED legs according to the pinout in the Hanrun HR911105A datasheet; since the transformer is inside the socket, do not use a separate transformer on the board.
• Connect the green and yellow LEDs to the LED (link / activity) outputs of the IC with the series resistor recommended in the datasheet.
• Solder the metal shell legs to the chassis (GND) area of the board; these legs complete the shielding and hold the socket firmly while the cable is plugged and unplugged.

Precautions:

•  The socket is for 10/100Mbps; it is not used in Gigabit (1000Mbps) Ethernet circuits.
•  There is no PoE support; do not use it in circuits that receive or supply power over the cable.
•  The pinout of sockets with transformer differs from model to model; for example, the transformer pin order of HY911108H (P1-P3 one winding, P2 centre tap) and its LED hole spacing differ from this socket, so the two cannot be swapped directly. Before fitting it in place of an RJ45 without transformer or another model with transformer, check in the datasheet that the pinout is the same.
•  Do not heat the legs for a long time while soldering; excessive heat can damage the plastic body and the LEDs inside.
