     This product is a one piece straight coaxial RF adapter with an N type male (plug) on one end and an F type female (socket) on the other. It lets you connect a cable with an F connector (TV and satellite cables such as RG6, RG59) to a device or antenna with an N type female socket without an extra cable. The adapter is passive; the signal passes in both directions.

     The widest part of the silver coloured nickel plated metal body (N nut) is 19.5mm in diameter; the adapter is 29.3mm long and weighs 14gr. The N male side has a knurled rotating nut and a gold coloured center pin, the F female side has a threaded socket and a white insulator. Its impedance is 50 ohm. Both ends are screwed on and do not come off by pulling; no soldering or cable work is needed.

     It is used to join parts with different connectors such as LNB and satellite equipment with N output, spectrum analyzers and test devices with N input, and GSM, 3G and 4G outdoor antennas with N female sockets.

Usage information:

• Seat the N male end on the N female socket of the device or antenna and tighten by hand by turning only the rotating nut; do not turn the body.
• Plug the cable with the F connector into the F female end and tighten its nut by hand. The inner conductor wire of the cable's F connector must be straight and long enough to reach the center of the socket.
• If you use it outdoors, protect the connection from moisture with insulating tape or heat shrink after tightening.

Precautions:

•  The N side is MALE, the F side is FEMALE. Your device must have an N female socket and your cable an F male connector; it does not fit parts of the opposite gender.
•  TV and satellite systems are usually 75 ohm, the adapter is 50 ohm. When parts with different impedance are joined a small reflection loss occurs; take this into account in sensitive measurements.
•  The adapter is for frequencies up to approximately 2GHz; at higher frequencies such as 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz Wi-Fi the loss increases.
•  Do not overtighten the nuts with pliers; the threads and the center pin can be damaged.
•  The adapter is not waterproof; outdoors the connection point must be protected from moisture.
