     The SMA Male to RP SMA Female Adapter Socket is a straight RF coaxial converter with an SMA male end on one side and an RP-SMA female end on the other. The SMA male end (internally threaded 8mm hex nut, centre pin contact) screws onto the SMA female socket of the device; the RP-SMA female end (externally threaded body, centre pin contact) accepts an antenna or cable with an RP-SMA male end. This way Wi-Fi type RP-SMA antennas and cables connect to a device with an SMA female socket without changing the cable.

     With a gold plated brass body and gold plated centre contact, it works at 50ohm impedance over DC - 6GHz; it covers 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz Wi-Fi, 433MHz / 868MHz LoRa, GPS and GSM / 4G bands. Its one piece straight body and approx. 3gr weight put little load on the device socket.

     It is used to fit an RP-SMA antenna to the SMA female antenna input of SDR receivers, LoRa modules and gateways, FPV video transmitters, GPS and GSM / 4G modules. The RP SMA Male to SMA Female adapter that works in the opposite direction is a separate product and is available in our store.

Usage information:

• Screw the SMA male end of the adapter onto the SMA female socket of the device by hand, and tighten lightly with an 8mm wrench if needed. Fit the antenna or cable with an RP-SMA male end to the RP-SMA female end of the adapter.
• When tightening, turn only the nut, do not force the body or the antenna; overtightening damages the contacts and the device socket.
• Check the centre of the mating ends before fitting: both ends of the adapter have a centre pin, so the mating end must have a centre hole. If pin meets pin, the end type is wrong.

Things to consider:

•  This product is an SMA MALE - RP-SMA FEMALE adapter. To fit an SMA antenna to a device with an RP-SMA female socket (for example a Wi-Fi router), the opposite RP SMA Male to SMA Female adapter is needed. Most Helium miners (Bobcat, SenseCAP, RAK) also have an RP-SMA female socket; they also need the opposite adapter.
•  SMA and RP-SMA use the same thread; a wrong pair screws on but makes no connection or crushes the centre pin. Check the end types before fitting.
•  Do not overtighten; hand tightening or light tightening with an 8mm wrench is enough.
•  Every adapter adds a small loss to the line; do not chain several adapters unnecessarily.
