10cm 40 Pin Female to Female Dupont Cable
100mm Detachable 2.54mm 10 Color Breadboard Jumper Wire Test Prototype Circuit Connection Cable
This product is a 10cm long ribbon of 40 joined jumper wires with female dupont housings on both ends. Each wire has a single pin female housing at both ends and plugs onto 2.54mm pitch male pin headers without soldering. The wires come in 10 different colours and the colour sequence repeats every 10 wires (4 groups).
The wires are joined side by side and peel apart easily by hand: they can be used as single jumpers or as small ribbons of 2, 4, 8 or any number of wires. The housings fit side by side on pins in a 2.54mm row without blocking each other. Thanks to the short 10cm length, there is little excess cable between boards and modules placed next to each other.
It is used to connect sensor, display and communication modules with male pin headers to the male pins of development boards, to connect USB-TTL converters, programmers and logic analyzers, and to make temporary bridges in repair work. It can be plugged and unplugged many times over a long period.
Key features:
Female on both ends: Each wire has a single pin female dupont housing on both ends; it makes a solderless connection between two boards or modules with male pin headers.
Peelable 40 wire ribbon: 40 wires are joined side by side; as many wires as needed are peeled off by hand, and lines that run together (e.g. 4 wire I2C, 6 wire SPI) can be kept as a small ribbon.
2.54mm standard pitch: The housings fit 2.54mm pitch pin headers and plug onto adjacent pins without blocking each other.
Easy line tracing: 10 different colours repeat every 10 wires; power, ground and signal lines are told apart by colour and connections do not get mixed up.
Short 10cm length: Gives a tidy connection without slack between boards placed side by side; leaves no excess cable in enclosures and bench setups.
Features:
- Product type: Female-female dupont jumper wire ribbon
- Number of wires: 40, joined side by side as a ribbon
- End type: Single pin (1P) female dupont housing on both ends
- Pin pitch: 2.54mm (standard header pitch); fits adjacent pins
- Compatible pins: 2.54mm pitch male pin headers
- Separation: Wires peel apart by hand, singly or as ribbons of any width
- Contact: Metal spring contact inside a plastic housing; sits firmly on the pin
- Wire gauge: approximately 26AWG thin wire
- Use: Signal lines and low current power connections
- Connection: Solderless, plug and unplug, reusable many times
- Compatible boards: Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, STM32 and other boards with male pin headers
- Compatible modules: Sensor, display, relay, USB-TTL and communication modules with male pin headers
- Material: Plastic insulated wire, plastic housing, metal contact
- Housing colour: Black
- Wire colours: 10 colours (black, brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, grey, white), repeating every 10 wires
- Cable length: 10cm
- Weight: approximately 25gr
Usage information:
- Peel off the number of wires you need starting from the edge of the ribbon; keeping lines that run together (power, ground, data) as a small ribbon keeps the wiring tidy.
- Assign colours to a scheme (e.g. black GND, red power) and check that both ends go to the correct pins before connecting.
- Push the housing straight onto the male pin until fully seated; when removing, pull by the plastic housing, not by the wire.
Areas of use:
- Connecting the pin headers of sensor modules to the male pins of development boards
- Connections from Raspberry Pi GPIO pins to modules
- UART (serial) connections with a USB-TTL converter
- ISP and SWD programmer connections
- Picking up signals from pin headers with a logic analyzer
- Connecting OLED and LCD display modules
- Connections between motor driver and control board in robot and vehicle kits
- Prototype and test connections between boards with pin headers
- Quick temporary bridges in repair and fault finding
- School and laboratory education sets
Precautions:
- Both ends are female; they do not plug directly into breadboard holes. For breadboard connections a jumper wire with male ends (male-male or male-female) is needed.
- These are thin wires; do not power high current loads such as motors, relay coils or LED strips through them.
- Make connections with the power off; a wire plugged onto the wrong pin can cause a short circuit.
- Do not remove the cable by pulling the wire; the wire can break off the contact or the housing can loosen.
- In vibrating or long term fixed connections the housing can loosen; use a locking connector or a soldered joint for permanent installations.
