20cm 40 Pin Male to Female Dupont Cable
200mm Detachable 2.54mm 10 Color Breadboard Jumper Wire Test Prototype Circuit Connection Cable
The 40 Pin Dupont Cable 20cm (male female) is a set of 40 jumper wires joined side by side in a ribbon, each with a male pin on one end and a female socket on the other. Every wire is 20cm (200mm) long, and the wires come in 10 different colors in a sequence that repeats every 10 wires. The ends fit the standard 2.54mm header pitch; the wires can be peeled off one by one or in strips of any size by hand.
The male end plugs into breadboard holes and female pin header (female socket) contacts, while the female end fits the male pin headers on sensor, display, relay and motor driver boards. This lets a module with male pins be connected to a breadboard or to a development board with female headers without soldering. The 20cm length leaves comfortable distance between the breadboard and a module, display or board placed a few centimetres away; it is used where a short 10cm cable does not reach.
It differs from the female-female and male-male sets of the same series only in the end type: in this set every wire has one male and one female end. It can be used for a long time and over and over again, and it gives a fast temporary connection during repair work.
Key features:
One male end, one female end: Connects a module with male pins directly to a breadboard or to a board with female headers; no adapter cable or soldering is needed.
40 wires, separable ribbon: The 40 wires come joined side by side; peel off as many as you need and keep wires that run together as a small strip.
Easy line tracing: 10 colors; black, brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, grey and white repeat every 10 wires, so supply, ground and signal lines are easy to tell apart.
Standard 2.54mm pitch: The ends fit 2.54mm pitch headers; several wires can be plugged onto adjacent pins.
Medium 20cm length: Gives enough distance for the wire to run without tension between the breadboard and a nearby board, display or sensor; the module can be placed a little away from the circuit.
Features:
- Product type: Male-female dupont jumper wire ribbon
- Number of wires: 40, joined side by side in a ribbon
- End type: Single-pin (1P) male dupont end on one side, single-pin (1P) female dupont end on the other
- Pin pitch: 2.54mm (standard header pitch); fits adjacent pins
- Male end fits: Breadboard holes and 2.54mm pitch female pin headers (female sockets)
- Female end fits: 2.54mm pitch male pin headers
- Separability: Wires can be peeled off one by one or in strips of any size by hand
- End construction: Metal male pin and metal female contact crimped into a plastic housing
- Wire gauge: approximately 26AWG thin wire
- Use: Signal lines and low-current supply connections
- Connection: Solderless, plug and unplug, can be used for a long time and over and over again
- Compatible boards: Arduino, ESP32, STM32 and other development boards with pin headers
- Compatible modules: Sensor, display, relay and motor driver modules with male pin headers
- Operating temperature: -20°C - 65°C
- Material: Plastic-insulated wire, plastic end housing, metal pin and contact
- End housing color: Black
- Wire colors: 10 colors (black, brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, grey, white), repeating every 10 wires
- Cable length: 20cm (200mm)
- Weight: approximately 30gr
Usage information:
- Peel off the required number of wires starting from the edge of the ribbon by hand; keeping lines that run together (supply, ground, data) as a small strip keeps the wiring tidy.
- Plug the female end onto the module's male pin and the male end into the breadboard hole or the board's female header. Use a color scheme (e.g. black GND, red supply) and check that both ends land on the correct pin.
- Push the ends in straight until fully seated; when removing, pull by the plastic housing, not by the wire.
Application areas:
- Connecting sensor modules with male pins to a breadboard
- Connecting modules with male pins to development boards with female headers
- Extending pin header connections by up to 20cm
- Wiring the control pins of relay boards and motor driver boards
- Connecting OLED and LCD display modules
- Connecting the male pin input socket of a logic analyzer to a circuit on a breadboard
- Building circuits on a breadboard as jumper wires
- Temporary connections in repair and troubleshooting work
- School and laboratory experiment sets
Precautions:
- In this set every wire has one male and one female end. A female-female cable is needed to connect two male pins, and a male-male cable to connect two female sockets or breadboard holes.
- This is a thin signal wire; do not use it to supply high-current loads such as motors, LED strips or heaters.
- The ends are made for 2.54mm pitch; they do not fit 2.0mm or 1.27mm pitch headers, and forcing them loosens the contact.
- Do not change connections while the circuit is powered; touching a wrong pin can cause a short circuit and damage the board.
- Frequent plugging and unplugging can loosen the female contact; discard a wire whose contact has become loose.
