SMA Male to SMA Male Adapter Socket
RF Coaxial Converter Splitter 50ohm Extension Cable Wifi Router Radio Scanners Wlan Radio Test Equipment
This product is a straight (180 degree) RF coaxial inline adapter with an SMA male connector on both ends. Each end has an internally threaded coupling nut and a centre pin, so it joins two SMA female ends (external thread, hole in the centre) directly, without a cable. It has 50ohm impedance and works in the DC-6GHz range.
The body is gold plated brass, the centre pin is gold plated and a PTFE (Teflon) insulator sits between the conductors. Loss is at most 0.15dB at 6GHz. It measures 7.7mm x 21.2mm and weighs 5gr.
It is used to join two antenna extension cables with SMA female ends, or to connect a cable with an SMA female end to the SMA female socket of an SDR receiver, a LoRa / GPS module or a test instrument. It does not fit RP-SMA sockets; check that both ends are SMA female before buying.
Key features:
Joins two female ends: Both ends are SMA male (internally threaded nut, centre pin). It joins two SMA female cable ends, or an SMA female socket device and a cable with an SMA female end, without extra cable.
50ohm, DC-6GHz: Used on 50ohm RF lines in the DC-6GHz range; loss at 6GHz is at most 0.15dB.
Gold plated brass: The brass body and centre pin are gold plated; the contact surface resists oxidation and the connection quality is kept over repeated mating.
Short and light: At 7.7mm x 21.2mm and 5gr it takes little room in the line and puts little load on the device socket.
Wide temperature range: Works from -65°C to +165°C. It is not waterproof; protect the joint outdoors with waterproof tape or an enclosure.

Usage information:
- Check that both ends to be joined are SMA female: externally threaded with a hole in the centre. A threaded socket with a pin in the centre is RP-SMA female and this adapter does not fit it.
- Hold the adapter straight on the socket axis, start it on the first threads and tighten the nut by hand. If the nut does not turn easily, do not force it; correct the angle and try again.
- If the connection loosens in a vibrating environment, retighten the nut by hand; turn the nut, not the adapter body.
Areas of use:
- Joining two antenna extension cables with SMA female ends
- Connecting a cable with an SMA female end to a device with an SMA female socket
- SMA female antenna inputs of SDR receivers
- SMA female antenna sockets of LoRa and GPS modules
- Spectrum analyzer and signal generator connections (those with SMA female inputs)
- Chaining attenuator, filter and RF amplifier modules with SMA female ports
- Telemetry and remote control transceiver antenna lines (those with SMA sockets)
- 5.8GHz video transmitter antenna lines (those with SMA sockets)
- RF measurement setups for laboratory and education
Precautions:
- This adapter fits SMA female ends only. Most home modems, routers and Wifi network cards have RP-SMA sockets; RP-SMA ends need an RP-SMA adapter. Please check the socket type and gender ( Male – Female ) before buying!
- This product is not a cable or a signal splitter; it only joins two SMA female ends into one line.
- Before fitting, check that the pins on both ends are straight and centred; a bent pin damages the mating socket.
- Do not overtighten the nut or force the adapter sideways; the SMA socket on the device and its solder joints can be damaged.
- Every extra joint adds a small loss to the line; do not build unnecessary adapter chains. Do not operate a transmitter without an antenna or a 50ohm load connected.
