LCD Backlight Boost Module 12V-24V to 75V Voltage Booster

It boosts the 12V - 24V input voltage to the 75V level.  It is used for driving the backlight leds of 14-37 inch LCD TVs.

     The LCD Backlight Boost Module is a constant current driver board with a boost structure that raises a 12V - 24V input voltage up to the 75V level. It is used for driving the backlight LED strips of 14-37 inch LED LCD TVs and monitors. This product is a constant current board; the output voltage is adapted automatically to the connected LED strip.

     With 24V input it can deliver at most 75V / 720mA or 60W, with 12V input at most 75V / 400mA or 30W. Conversion efficiency reaches more than 92%, current control error is within ±5%; the temperature rise on the board surface stays at about 25°C. The slim board, approximately 68mm x 30mm in size, can be placed inside TVs and monitors whose backlight board has failed.

     The board works with the supply (VCC), on/off (ON/OFF) and brightness (PWM) signals coming from the TV main board; it feeds the LED strip from the LED+ and LED- terminals. It is used in place of the original backlight driver in the repair of LED TVs and monitors that show a picture but whose backlight does not light.

Key features:

     Boost from 12V or 24V input to 75V: It produces the high voltage required by the LED strip from the TV's own 12V or 24V supply; no separate power supply is needed.

     Constant current output: The board keeps the current, not the voltage, constant; the voltage adjusts itself to the LED strip. Current control error is within ±5%.

     High efficiency, low heating: With its boost structure the conversion efficiency is above 92%; the temperature rise of the board surface is about 25°C.

     On/off and brightness input: The ON/OFF (ON, EN, ON_BL) and PWM (PDIM, VDAJ, BL-PWM) inputs connect to the backlight signals of the TV main board; switching on/off and brightness adjustment keep working with the TV remote control.

     Small and slim board: With approximately 68mm x 30mm size it fits narrow spaces inside the TV case; it is fixed with screws through the mounting holes at both ends.

Usage information:

• Before connecting, find out the voltage and current of the TV's LED strip (from the label of the old board or the panel); the values must be within the limits of the board.
• Connect the VCC, GND, ON/OFF and PWM lines from the TV main board to the pins of the same name on the board, and the LED strip to the LED+ and LED- terminals. The pin order differs from TV to TV; connect according to pin names, not cable colours.
• At first start, switch the TV on briefly and check that the LED strip lights and the board does not overheat; then screw the board into the TV case.

Precautions:

•  Important Note: The limit parameter refers to the maximum capacity of the product in the application process. To ensure product reliability during use, please use it below the limit parameters.
•  Up to 75V is present at the output. Do not touch the LED+ and LED- terminals or the board while it is operating; make connections with the power off.
•  The fixed output current of the board is not given in seller sources; the 720mA and 400mA values are limits, not the set value. Before connecting, make sure the output current of the board does not exceed the current rating of the TV's LED strip; LEDs driven above the strip's current rating wear out quickly.
•  With 12V input the output power is limited to 30W; use 24V input for large screens.
•  This board is a backlight (LED strip) driver; it does not repair a TV with no picture or with a faulty main board or panel.
•  This board is for LED backlights only; it cannot replace the inverter board of older LCD TVs and monitors with CCFL (fluorescent lamp) backlights.
