     The M2806002 WAV MP3 player module is a small audio player board that plays MP3 and WAV sound files on a micro SD (TF) card on its own. It needs no microcontroller or software: when power is applied it starts playing the songs on the card automatically. With only 20 x 18.6mm size and 2gr weight it fits easily into small sound projects such as toys, doorbells, announcements and audible alarms.

     With buttons connected to the ADKEY (K) pin through resistors of different values, play/pause, next/previous song, volume, EQ, repeat and mode functions are controlled from a single pin (see the schematic in the product image). An infrared receiver connected to the IR pin adds remote control; an LED connected to the PLAYLED (D) pin shows the playback status.

     The board carries a JL (Jieli) audio decoder IC (marking on the IC: AB24BP21143). Operating voltage is in the DC 3.7V-5V range; it can be powered from a single cell Li-ion battery or a 5V adapter. Thanks to micro SD card support up to 32GB, hundreds of songs or announcement files can be stored.

Usage information:

• Format the micro SD card as FAT32, copy the MP3 or WAV files and insert the card into the slot. Connect 3.7V / 5V to the V pin and GND to the G pin; playback starts when power is applied.
• By connecting buttons to the Key (K) pin with the resistor values shown in the schematic in the product image (0, 3K3, 6K2, 9K1, 15K, 24K, 33K, 51K, 100K, 220K), the listed functions can be obtained. Pay attention to the resistor values. The schematic uses a 5V supply.
• Remote control can be added with an IR receiver connected to the IR pin. As in the schematic, an LED and a 330 ohm resistor connected between V (VCC) and the D (PLAYLED) pin (LED cathode to the D pin) show the playback status.
• Connect the audio signal taken from the L and R pins to an active speaker or the input of an audio amplifier module.

Points to consider:

•  There is no separate power amplifier IC on the board. Do not connect a passive speaker directly to the L / R pins; use an external amplifier module for a speaker.
•  If the button resistor values differ from the values in the schematic, the wrong function runs. Pay attention to the resistor values.
•  The supply must be in the DC 3.7V-5V range; do not apply more than 5V. Do not reverse the polarity.
•  Do not insert or remove the micro SD card while the power is on; the card and files may be damaged.
