     The Medium Size Breadboard 400 Pin is a white solderless circuit board with 400 holes in total. The holes have 2.54mm (0.1") pitch; in the middle there are two working areas of 30 columns (rows a-e and f-j, 300 holes in total), and along the two long edges there are 4 power rails marked with red (+) and blue (-) lines (100 holes in total). With a size of about 81mm x 53mm it is about half of a large 830-hole breadboard; it takes little space on the desk and offers enough room for small circuits.

     The nickel plated phosphor bronze spring contacts inside the holes hold the inserted lead and jumper wire firmly; components can be reused after removal and their leads are not bent or damaged. Rows are marked with letters and columns with numbers, so the circuit is easy to follow as in the schematic. Thanks to the interlocking slots on the edges, several boards can be joined side by side for a larger working area.

     It is suitable for building and testing a circuit with DIP ICs, resistors, LEDs, capacitors, transistors, sensors and small modules without soldering, and then removing the parts to use them in another circuit.

     Medium size, joinable: At about 81mm x 53mm it is about half of a large 830-hole board. Several boards can be joined side by side with the interlocking slots on the edges.

     Marked rows and columns: Letters a-j and numbers 1-30 are printed, so the connections in the schematic are easy to follow and wiring errors are reduced.

Usage information:

• Connect one power rail to (+) and the rail next to it to (-); take the supply for the parts in the circuit from these rails with short jumper wires.
• Place a DIP IC across the center channel so that its leads fall on both sides; this way each lead is connected to a separate 5-hole column and the leads are not shorted to each other.
• Push the leads straight and fully into the holes; straighten thin and bent leads before inserting. Do not force parts with thick leads (power diode, large connector).

Points to consider:

•  The breadboard is for low voltage and low current experiment circuits. Mains voltage (220V) and high current circuits must not be built on a breadboard.
•  Leads or wires thicker than 0.8mm (20AWG) widen the contact springs; that hole will no longer hold thin leads.
•  The blocks on both sides of the center channel are not connected to each other; use a wire to join the two halves.
•  This product is a 400-hole medium size board. For larger circuits a large 830-hole breadboard or several medium boards joined together are used.
