USB Type C To 4 Pin Dip Converter Pcb
Adapter Board 5V Supply Power Input Breadboard Charger Powerbank LED Strip Fan
USB Type C to Dip Pcb is a small converter board that brings the supply and USB 2.0 data lines of the Type-C female socket, which comes soldered on the board, out to 4 solder holes with 2.54mm pitch. The holes are labelled V (VBUS +5V), D-, D+ and G (GND) on the board, so the supply and the USB D+ D- signals of the Type-C socket are easy to reach. As the Type-C plug can be inserted either way, the board adds a 5V supply and USB 2.0 data input to your own circuit that cannot be plugged in the wrong way. As the board has no CC resistors, for power use an adapter or powerbank with a USB-A output and a USB-A to Type-C cable.
As the holes have the standard 2.54mm pitch, you can solder a 4-pin pin header to the board and plug it into a breadboard, a perfboard or your own PCB, or solder wires directly into the holes. The board is a plain converter offering only 4 lines: there are no resistors on the CC1 and CC2 lines, and USB Power Delivery (PD) and SuperSpeed lines are not broken out. The best use is therefore 5V supply and USB 2.0 data with a USB-A to Type-C cable.
At 12mm x 15mm the board takes up very little space; there are no components on its back side. Note: if you are looking for a Type-C socket with wire solder pads that is fixed to a panel with screws, see our "Type C Usb Socket Panel Mount" product; this product is a converter board with 2.54mm DIP holes.

Usage information:
- Solder a 4-pin 2.54mm male pin header to the board (not included) or solder wires directly into the V, D-, D+ and G holes.
- For supply only, connect the V pin to the +5V input of your circuit and the G pin to GND. Plug the board into a charging adapter, powerbank or computer with a USB-A to Type-C cable.
- For USB data, connect the D+ pin to the USB D+ pin of the microcontroller and the D- pin to its USB D- pin; keep the lines short and close to each other.
Application areas:
- Breadboard prototypes with a Type-C 5V supply input
- Arduino projects with an added Type-C power input
- ESP32-S2 / ESP32-S3, STM32 and ATmega32U4 microcontrollers with native USB, connection to D+ D- lines
- Charger powered small 5V circuits
- Powerbank powered portable projects
- LED strip and 5V lighting projects
- Fan and small 5V devices with a Type-C power input
- Prototype enclosures and your own designs with Type-C input instead of Micro USB
- Test setups with measurement access to USB supply and data lines
Points to consider:
- There are no CC1 / CC2 resistors (5.1k) on the board. Chargers with a USB-C output, USB-C (PD) chargers and USB-C ports of computers may not supply 5V to this board over a Type-C to Type-C cable; use a USB-A to Type-C cable for power.
- The board supplies 5V only; higher voltages such as 9V, 12V or 20V cannot be obtained with USB PD. There is no fuse or protection on the board; do not short the V and G pins.
- The V pin is 5V. Do not connect it directly to the 3.3V pin or input pins of boards running at 3.3V.
- When soldering a pin header or wires, do not hold the soldering iron on the socket legs for long; the solder of the Type-C socket may loosen.
