The module has a 4-direction joystick. Direction information is obtained from here. The joystick also has a button that can be pressed from above. There are 2 more user buttons on the module. 7 io pins are required for 4 directions and 3 buttons. There is also a common terminal pin. This pin is connected to Vcc or GND. This common terminal reaches all buttons. When a button is pressed or the joystick is moved, the signal on the common terminal reaches the mcu pin on the relevant development board. In this way, the key press and direction are detected.
