     Mini Li-ion Battery Charging Module Type C is a single cell lithium battery charging circuit placed on the back of a Type-C female socket, about 11mm x 7.5mm x 5.5mm in size and about 0.5gr in weight. It takes its 5V supply through the Type-C socket, charges the 3.7V lithium battery with a 600mA constant current and completes the charge at 4.2V (±1%) constant voltage. The module can charge single cell lithium batteries or batteries connected in parallel.

     Since the board and the socket are a single part, it fits directly into the Type-C opening of the product's case; no space is needed for a separate charging board and socket. It is easily placed in compact devices such as smart wearables, micro drones, wireless headphones, electric mosquito repellents and small flashlights. The positive and negative terminals of the lithium battery are soldered to the B+ and B− pads.

     This module has a fully automatic charging mechanism and is made of SMD components. It first applies a low current pre-charge to batteries whose voltage has dropped below about 2.8V - 2.9V and switches to full current when the battery recovers; if the battery voltage drops after the charge is complete, it recharges automatically. The red LED indicator flashes during charging. When charging is complete, the red LED stays on and shows that charging has finished.

     Warning: Reverse battery connection causes permanent damage to the product. Soldered products are not accepted for return.

Usage information:

• Before use, supply power through the type c and measure the charge voltage at the output pads with a voltmeter. You should measure 4.5V with no load.
• Then you can proceed to soldering. The pads are delicate. High temperature soldering iron tips may cause the pads to lift off the product. Soldered products cannot be returned even if they are working.
• The B+ and B− pins are connected to the positive and negative terminals of the battery. The wires used for the power and battery connections must be of good quality; poor quality cables affect the charge current due to their resistance.
• The red LED flashes during charging. When charging is complete, the red LED stays on.

Things to consider:

•  The charge current is 600mA; the charge current of the battery must not exceed 1C. Do not charge batteries below 600mAh capacity with this module.
•  Do not connect the battery in reverse; reverse battery connection causes permanent damage to the product.
•  The module has no battery protection circuit. Use a protected battery or a separate protection board against over-discharge and short circuit.
•  The module is only for single cell (4.2V) lithium batteries. Do not charge series battery packs or LiFePO4 batteries; do not apply a supply above 6V.
•  The pads are small and delicate; solder at low temperature and quickly.
