     USBACAB230 is a USB programming cable that connects Delta DVP series PLCs (ES, EX, EH, EC, SV, SS) to a computer. One end has a USB-A plug for the computer, the other end has an 8 pin round Mini DIN plug for the RS232 (COM1) programming port on the front of the PLC. Between the two ends there is a yellow-black converter box labelled with the model and compatible series, and about 2.5m of cable; the ferrite core on the USB side reduces interference.

     When plugged in, the cable creates a virtual COM port through its driver (CH341SER); by selecting this COM port in the Delta programming software you can upload a program to the PLC, read the program back from the PLC and monitor it while running. The cable is powered from the USB port, no external adapter is needed. The power and communication LEDs on the converter box show that the connection and data flow are working.

Usage information:

• Install the CH341SER driver (CH341ser.exe) on the computer, then plug the cable into a USB port. Note the COM number given to the cable under "Ports (COM & LPT)" in Device Manager; the power LED should light up.
• Align the key of the 8 pin Mini DIN plug with the slot and plug it fully into the RS232 (COM1) programming port on the front of the PLC.
• Select the COM port given to the cable in the communication settings of the Delta programming software; then upload the program to the PLC, read it from the PLC or monitor online. The communication LED blinks during data flow.

Points to consider:

•  This product is a cable compatible with Delta USB-ACAB230, it is not an original Delta product.
•  The cable is for Delta DVP PLCs with an 8 pin round Mini DIN RS232 programming port on the front. Before buying, check the series of your PLC and that it has the 8 pin round port on the front; the cable cannot be plugged into models without this port.
•  Although the box label says SE, the DVP-SE series has no 8 pin Mini DIN RS232 port (programming is done through its Mini USB port); this cable does not fit DVP-SE. According to Delta, on the DVP-EC3 series the RS232 port is only available on 16-60 point models.
•  Without the driver installed, the cable does not appear as a COM port. The COM number selected in the software must be the same as the number in Device Manager.
•  Do not insert the Mini DIN plug at an angle or by force; the thin pins of the plug can bend.
