ZGA37RG DC Motor 12V 100Rpm Geared 37mm Metal Gear Motor 6mm D Shaft
Low Speed High Torque Robot Car Wheel Conveyor Mixer Peristaltic Pump Curtain Door Toy RC Car
The ZGA37RG DC Motor 12V 100Rpm is a geared motor in which a 520 type brushed DC motor (labelled ZYTD520) is combined with a 37mm diameter metal gear reducer, with the output shaft in the exact center of the gearbox. With a reduction ratio of approximately 1:31.6 it turns at 100Rpm with no load at 12V; it delivers approximately 1kg.cm - 1.2kg.cm load torque and draws approximately 60mA with no load.
The output shaft is a 6mm diameter, 14mm long D type (flat sided) shaft; a wheel hub, coupling or pulley with a D bore clamps on it without slipping. The gearbox and motor housing are metal and silver coloured; the total length including the shaft is approximately 82mm and the weight is approximately 185gr. It turns in both directions by reversing the polarity of the voltage applied to the 2 terminals at the rear of the motor.
It is used in robot car wheels, conveyor and mixer drives, curtain and door mechanisms that need low speed and high torque. It also runs between 6V - 18V; the speed changes with the voltage.
Key features:
Center output shaft: The output shaft is on the axis of the gearbox, exactly in the center; the motor can be placed axially inside a tube or housing, and the wheel or pulley turns on the same axis as the motor.
Metal gear reducer: The metal gear train reduces the motor speed with a ratio of approximately 1:31.6; at 12V it gives 100Rpm no load speed and approximately 1kg.cm - 1.2kg.cm load torque.
D type 6mm shaft: Thanks to the flat side of the shaft, a wheel hub or coupling does not slip on the shaft when its screw is tightened.
Low no load current: Draws approximately 60mA with no load at 12V; the current rises under load and at start-up, so choose the motor driver for that current.
Bidirectional, adjustable speed: Reverses when the polarity is swapped; speed is set with PWM or with the supply voltage (6V - 18V).
Features:
- Product type: brushed DC motor with metal gear reducer, center output shaft
- Model: ZGA37RG (gearbox), 520 type motor (labelled ZYTD520)
- Operating voltage: DC 12V (also runs between 6V - 18V, speed changes with voltage)
- No load speed: 100Rpm (12V; speed drops under load)
- Reduction ratio: approximately 1:31.6
- Load torque: approximately 1kg.cm - 1.2kg.cm
- No load current: approximately 60mA (12V)
- Rotation: both directions; reverses when the polarity is swapped
- Gear train: metal gears, spur gear reducer (not self locking)
- Shaft type: D type (flat sided) output shaft
- Shaft position: in the center of the gearbox, on the same axis as the motor
- Connection: 2 solder terminals on the rear cover of the motor
- Speed control: with a PWM motor driver or the supply voltage
- Shaft dimensions: 6mm diameter, 14mm length
- Material: metal gearbox housing, metal motor housing
- Colour: silver
- Dimensions: 37mm diameter; total length including shaft approximately 82mm
- Weight: approximately 185gr
Usage information:
- Connect the 2 terminals at the rear of the motor to the motor output of a motor driver board; the direction is reversed by swapping the polarity of these two terminals, and the speed is set with the PWM output of the driver.
- Fix the motor with a bracket suitable for 37mm geared motors; tighten the wheel, coupling or pulley with a 6mm D bore hub so that its screw sits on the flat side of the shaft.
- Speed and torque drop as the supply voltage drops; the 100Rpm speed is reached with a 12V supply.
Applications:
- Robot car and wheeled robot drive
- Conveyor and belt transport mechanisms
- Stirrer and mixer drives
- Peristaltic pump and dosing pump drive
- Motorized curtain and roller blind mechanisms
- Light automatic door, lid and sliding latch mechanisms
- Toy and RC car drive
- Educational and laboratory test setups
- Automation and machine auxiliary drives
Precautions:
- The gearbox is a spur gear type, not a worm gear: when power is cut, a vertical load or a spring can turn the output shaft back. Use a brake or lock in mechanisms that must hold the load.
- Do not run the motor stalled (unable to turn) for a long time; the current rises, the motor heats up and the gears may be damaged.
- Do not force the output shaft by hand or by load; the gears get damaged.
- Do not power the motor directly from a pin of the control board; use a motor driver board with suitable current.
- Do not run the motor above 18V.
