     JGA25-370 is a small gear motor made of a 25mm diameter metal gearbox fitted to a 370 type brushed DC motor. Its label reads "DC12V100RPM": with a 12V supply the shaft turns approx. 100 times per minute, and rotation slows down under load. The gearbox reduces the high motor speed and increases torque; with approx. 1kg.cm rated torque it drives small mechanisms that need force directly. It turns in both directions when the supply polarity is reversed.

     Its total length is approx. 67mm (31mm motor + 24mm gearbox + 12mm shaft). The output shaft is 4mm with a D cut (flat at 3.5mm), carried by a 7mm brass bushing at its base. The front face of the gearbox has 2 x M3 screw holes 17mm apart; the motor is screwed to a bracket or body through these holes. There are 2 solderable terminals at the back of the motor.

     According to the Robiz listing the motor also works between 6V and 18V; speed changes in proportion to voltage. It is smaller and lighter than 37mm gear motors and suits small robot vehicles, conveyors, pumps and lock mechanisms.

     Bidirectional rotation: Turns forward and backward by reversing the supply polarity; direction and speed are controlled with an H-bridge motor driver.

Usage information:

• Solder the two motor terminals to the output of a DC motor driver. Reverse the polarity or use an H-bridge driver to change direction; set the speed with PWM.
• Screw the motor to a 25mm motor bracket or body through the 2 x M3 holes on the gearbox face. Use short screws; a screw that goes too deep into the gearbox touches the gears.
• Fix the wheel, pulley or coupling to the 4mm D shaft with a set screw aligned to the flat face.

Precautions:

•  A motor loaded until the shaft stalls draws high current and heats up; choose the driver and supply according to the stall current and prevent the mechanism from jamming.
•  The gearbox uses spur gears and is not self-locking: when power is cut, the load can turn the shaft back. Where a hanging load must be held, a brake or a worm gearbox is needed.
•  According to the Robiz listing do not run it above 18V; higher voltage shortens motor and gearbox life.
•  The motor cannot be driven directly from a controller board pin; use a motor driver board or a transistor driver.
