12V 60Rpm JGA25-370 Gearmotor DC Motor
Metal Gear High Torque Force 25mm Robot Toy RC Car Medical Automation
The JGA25-370 60Rpm 12V is a gear motor made of a 370 type brushed DC motor with a 25mm diameter metal gearbox in front, turning 60 revolutions per minute on a 12V supply. Compared with the 100Rpm and 620Rpm versions of the same family, it turns slower and delivers higher torque; its speed drops under load while it keeps its force. The output shaft is a 4mm diameter D-cut shaft and the total length is about 67mm.
The cylindrical body is 25mm in diameter; it is screwed to a 25mm motor bracket or a flat panel with the 2 M3 screw holes (17mm spacing) on the front face of the gearbox. The driver wires are soldered to the 2 solder terminals at the back of the motor, and the rotation direction is changed by reversing the polarity. It is suitable for mechanisms that need slow and strong rotation, such as small robot vehicle wheels, turntables, curtains and dosing pumps.
The gearbox uses spur gears and is not self-locking: when the power is cut, the load can turn the shaft back. Where a hanging load must be held, a brake or a worm gear motor should be preferred.
Key features:
Slow and strong rotation: It turns 60 revolutions per minute at 12V. Its torque is higher than the 100Rpm and 620Rpm versions of the same size; suitable for robot vehicles starting uphill and under load.
25mm metal gearbox: Because the gears are metal, it is more durable under sudden load and long operation than plastic gear gearboxes.
4mm D shaft: The 12mm long 4mm D-cut shaft lets set-screw wheels, pulleys and couplings sit without slipping.
Compact body: With a 25mm diameter and about 67mm total length it fits narrow robot chassis and small boxes; it weighs about 95gr.
Simple connection: It is a two-terminal brushed motor; speed (PWM) and direction are controlled with a single DC motor driver.
Features:
- Product type: Metal gear brushed DC gear motor
- Model: JGA25-370 (label: JGA25-370 DC12V 60RPM)
- Rated voltage: 12V (runs between about 6V - 18V)
- Speed: 60Rpm (12V; 60 turns per minute, rotation slows down as load increases)
- Torque: about 2.7kg.cm - 4kg.cm at rated load (seller values; stall torque is higher, do not exceed the rated value in continuous operation)
- No-load current: about 50mA - 60mA (12V)
- Load current: about 300mA - 350mA (12V, at rated load)
- Rotation direction: Bidirectional (right / left)
- Motor type: 370 type brushed DC motor
- Gearbox: 25mm diameter, metal gears, spur gears (not self-locking)
- Output shaft: 4mm D-cut (flat 3.5mm, D length 8mm), 12mm length
- Shaft bushing: 7mm diameter, 2.5mm height
- Mounting: 2 M3 screw holes on the gearbox front face, 17mm spacing
- Connection: 2 solder terminals at the back of the motor
- Body material: Metal
- Color: Silver
- Dimensions: 25mm diameter, about 67mm total length (31mm motor + about 24mm gearbox + 12mm shaft)
- Weight: about 95gr
Usage information:
- Solder the two terminals of the motor to the output of a DC motor driver. To change direction, reverse the polarity or use an H-bridge driver; speed is adjusted with PWM.
- Screw the motor to a 25mm motor bracket or body through the 2 M3 holes on the gearbox front face. Use short screws; a screw going too deep into the gearbox can rub the gears.
- Fix the wheel, pulley or coupling on the 4mm D shaft with the set screw on the flat.
Areas of use:
- Small robot vehicle and track wheels
- Turntables and rotating display mechanisms
- Motorized curtain, roller blind and shutter mechanisms
- Dosing and peristaltic pumps
- Reel winders and cable winding mechanisms
- Camera sliders and slow rotating camera mechanisms
- Vending and product dispensing mechanisms
- Mixers and slow rotating feed mechanisms
- Smart lock and latch mechanisms
Precautions:
- A motor loaded until the shaft stalls draws high current and heats up; choose the driver and supply according to the stall current (about 1.3A at 12V) and prevent the mechanism from jamming.
- The gearbox is not self-locking: when the power is cut, the load can turn the shaft back. Where a hanging load must be held, use a brake or a worm gear motor.
- Do not run it above 18V; higher voltage shortens the life of the motor and gearbox.
- It cannot be driven directly from a controller board pin; use a motor driver board or a transistor driver.
- There are versions with different speeds in the same body; before ordering, check that the 60RPM on the label fits your need.
