     The 140 Piece Cable Set consists of U-shaped jumper wires prepared for making short, tidy connections on a breadboard. The set contains 14 different lengths, 10 pieces of each, 140 wires in total; the lengths range from 2mm to 125mm: 2, 5, 7, 10, 12, 15, 17, 20, 22, 25, 50, 75, 100 and 125mm. The wires are 22AWG solid core and come in a clear, compartmented plastic box.

     The plastic insulation at both ends of the wires is stripped and the ends are bent at 90 degrees; the wire plugs directly into the breadboard holes, lies flat on the surface and no tangle of wires forms above the circuit. The short lengths (2mm - 25mm) correspond to a span of about 1 - 10 holes on the breadboard, and the long lengths (50mm - 125mm) join the power rails on both sides of the breadboard and distant points. The wires come in 9 different colours, so connections are easy to tell apart by colour.

     The wires need no soldering and can be plugged in and out again and again. They are suitable for building experiment circuits at school, in the laboratory and in the workshop, and for keeping a prototype tidy and readable; thanks to the box, the wires are stored sorted by length group in the compartments. Usage information:

• Count the span between the two holes to be connected and choose the length that fits it; hold the wire by both ends and press it straight into the breadboard so that it lies flat on the surface.
• Use the colours according to a scheme (for example red for supply, a dark colour for ground); in large circuits connections become easier to follow.
• After removing a wire, put it back in the compartment of its length group; the set stays tidy for a long time.
