     The 10 Pcs Dupont Hook Probe Male is a probe set made of a 10 wire, 10 color 20cm dupont cable with a male dupont pin on one end and a spring loaded hook type test clip on the other. The male pin end plugs into a logic analyzer with female inputs, into the female end of the female-female dupont cable supplied with male pin analyzers, into female pin headers or into a breadboard; the hook end is attached to a pin, an IC leg or a test point on the board without soldering.

     When the back of the clip is pressed, the metal hook at the tip opens outward; after it is placed on the point and released, the spring pulls the hook back and grips the pin firmly. This gives a solid connection without soldering, and the clip comes off without a trace when the measurement is done. The hooks come in 5 colors and the cables in 10 different colors; in applications where several signals are monitored at once, the channels are easy to tell apart by color.

     It suits monitoring UART, I2C and SPI lines with a logic analyzer, connecting a programmer without soldering and following the signals on a board during troubleshooting.

Usage information:

• Plug the male dupont ends into the female channel inputs of the logic analyzer or into the analyzer's female ended cables; plug one cable into the GND input of the analyzer and attach its hook to the GND point of the board under test.
• Press the back of the clip, place the opened metal hook behind the pin or IC leg and release it; check that the hook holds only one pin and does not touch the neighbouring pin.
• Note which color is connected to which channel; the cable colors make it easy to tell the channels apart.

Precautions:

•  The cable end of this product is a MALE dupont pin; it does not plug directly into devices with male pin inputs such as 8 channel USB logic analyzers; a female-female dupont cable or a female ended hook probe is needed.
•  The clips are for low voltage signal measurement; do not use them on 220V mains or on lines carrying high current.
•  On fine pitch IC legs check that the hook does not touch the neighbouring leg; a short circuit can damage the board.
•  Do not remove the clip by pulling its cable; press the back to open it, then remove it.
