     The SOT23-6 PCB is a blank adapter board used to convert small 6-lead SOT23-6 SMD ICs and one 0805 size SMD part into DIP form. There are 4 holes with 2.54mm (100mil) pitch on each side of the board; the two rows are 300mil apart, so the board follows the standard DIP8 IC layout. After the IC is soldered onto the board, it can be plugged into a breadboard, a perfboard or a DIP8 IC socket.

     The board is made of first class, double sided FR4 material. The top side has one SOT23-6 and one 0805 pad; one SOT23-6 and one 0805 part can also be soldered on the bottom side, and the bottom pads are connected to the same pins as the top ones. A resistor or capacitor needed next to the IC can be placed on the 0805 pad. Pads and holes are tin plated; the dot next to the SOT23-6 pad shows the pin 1 direction, and the board carries the prints "23-6" and "ExpKits".

     Standard DIP8 layout: 2 x 4 holes with 2.54mm pitch and 300mil row spacing make the board directly compatible with breadboards and DIP8 IC sockets.

     Extra 0805 pad: One 0805 resistor or capacitor can be placed next to the SOT23-6 IC; check on the board traces which DIP pins the 0805 pad is connected to.

     Two sided use: The SOT23-6 and 0805 pads on the bottom side are connected to the same pins as the top ones; the part can be soldered on the desired side of the board.

     Quality FR4 board: The first class double sided FR4 board and tin plated pads make soldering easy.

Usage information:

• Place the SOT23-6 IC on the pads with its pin 1 at the dot mark on the board; solder one lead first and check the alignment, then solder the other leads.
• For a breadboard or DIP8 socket, solder 2.54mm male pin headers into the 4 holes on each side; when inserting it like a DIP8 IC, pay attention to the pin 1 direction.

Precautions:

•  The pads on the top and bottom sides are connected to the same pins; if parts are soldered on both sides at the same time, they are connected in parallel.
•  The pin functions (pinout) of SOT23-6 ICs differ from IC to IC; build your circuit by checking which lead goes to which DIP pin against the IC datasheet.
•  Do not heat the small pads for a long time; use a fine tip soldering iron and flux, excessive heat can lift the pad.
