ST ST-LINK V3 MINIE STM32 JTAG SWD Debugger Programmer Probe
Type C Virtual COM STM32F723IEK6 32BIT 512KB FLASH 176UFBGA STLINK-V3MINIE
This is an original ST product.
STLINK-V3MINIE is a stand-alone debugging and programming probe for STM32 microcontrollers made by STMicroelectronics, measuring 15mm x 42mm. It connects to the computer through USB Type-C with a USB 2.0 high-speed interface and is self-powered from USB. It communicates with the STM32 on the target board over JTAG (up to 21MHz) or SWD (up to 24MHz), supports SWV tracing and forwards the target UART to the computer as a virtual COM port of up to 15Mbps.
The target application voltage range is 1.65V - 3.6V, so low-power STM32 designs running at 1.8V can be programmed directly without an extra expansion board. It connects to the target through the 1.27mm pitch 14-pin STDC14 connector with the included STDC14 - STDC14 flat cable; the board edge also has 2.0mm pitch pads for a board-to-board (BTB) card edge connector. Because of its size, the probe does not supply power to the target; the target must run from its own supply.
It works directly with STM32CubeProgrammer and is supported in GCC based IDEs including ST's free STM32CubeIDE, and in commercial IDEs such as Keil MDK-ARM and IAR EWARM. Binary files can be written to Flash by drag and drop, and the probe firmware is updated over USB. Its small size makes it easy to carry for firmware uploads on the desk, on the production line and in the field.
Key features:
Original ST probe: Made by STMicroelectronics; recognised by STM32CubeProgrammer and STM32CubeIDE without extra driver settings, and its firmware is updated with ST tools.
Low voltage support: The 1.65V - 3.6V target voltage range lets you program low-power and battery powered STM32 boards running at 1.8V without an adapter.
Fast debugging: SWD and SWV run up to 24MHz and JTAG up to 21MHz; large firmware files upload quickly and breakpoints and single stepping stay responsive.
Virtual COM port: The target UART output reaches the computer over the same USB cable as a virtual COM port of up to 15Mbps; no separate USB - TTL converter is needed.
Small and portable: The 15mm x 42mm board, USB Type-C connection and a single flat cable make it easy to carry in the field and on the production line.

- Weight: approx. 58gr (with box and cable)
Usage information:
- Connect the probe to the computer with a USB Type-C cable. The COM LED first blinks red (first USB enumeration), turns solid red when communication with the computer is established, and blinks green / red while data is exchanged with the target.
- Plug the included flat cable into the STDC14 connector of the probe and the STDC14 connector on the target board. Power the target board from its own supply; the target voltage must be within 1.65V - 3.6V.
- Update the probe firmware with STM32CubeProgrammer and program the target over SWD or JTAG. In STM32CubeIDE, Keil or IAR, select ST-LINK as the probe to debug directly.
- To monitor the target UART, use the RX / TX pads on the board edge (or the virtual COM lines on STDC14); it appears as a virtual COM port on the computer.
Application areas:
- Firmware upload and debugging on custom STM32 based boards
- Serial firmware programming on the production line
- Field firmware updates and service
- Development of low-power and battery powered devices running at 1.8V
- Serial log and console monitoring over the virtual COM port
- Run-time tracing with SWV
- Automated test fixtures (with ST's free low-level probe API)
- University and training laboratories
- Industrial control and IoT board development
- Portable spare probe for embedded software teams
Precautions:
- STLINK-V3MINIE does not supply power to the target board. Programming is not possible unless the target runs from its own supply.
- The target application voltage is 1.65V - 3.6V. Do not connect it directly to 5V logic level target lines.
- The probe is for STM32 microcontrollers only; it has no SWIM interface required to program STM8.
- The debug connector is a 1.27mm pitch 14-pin STDC14. If the target board has a 2.54mm pitch 20-pin JTAG or another connector, a suitable adapter or cable is required.
- Mind the orientation of the flat cable; do not plug the connector reversed or offset.
