4S 40A Lithium Battery BMS Protection Board Balance Version

It is suitable for 4 pcs series 18650 batteries. It does not charge batteries. It is for battery protection. It performs the balancing task.

     With this module you can quickly charge high capacity 4S lithium batteries; thanks to the voltage protections on it, it protects your batteries from being charged at high voltages and it also prevents current from being drawn from your nearly depleted batteries, preventing damage to the batteries.

     Batteries must always be charged at limited currents. Charging a battery without current control causes the battery life to decrease. Similarly, drawing high current rapidly from the batteries also damages the batteries. Even though BMS products appear to charge the batteries, they do not perform current control. It is appropriate to use them only for the purpose of protecting the batteries. You need to charge your batteries with a current controlled source together with your BMS boards. The battery charging current should be at levels such as 1/10 or 2/10 of the battery capacity. Remember, charging or discharging at very high current will reduce the battery life while saving time/power.

Note 1: Successfully start the drill requires 3 15C-20C power batteries, or 6 10C-15C power batteries (recommended power battery models: VTC4, VTC4A, VTC5A, VTC6); 0V and 12.6V cable, Use copper wire above 4 mm2 (cannot use nickel plate! ! !).
In successful drill applications; 3 pcs 15C-20C power  batteries or 6 pcs 10C-15C batteries must be used. C: A standard that classifies batteries
Recommended battery models:VTC4, VTC4A, VTC5A, VTC6. The cable thickness must be higher than 4mm2. Do not use nickel plate.
 
Note 2: Strictly follow the wiring of the diagram 0V, 4.2V, 8.4V, 12.6V, do not intentionally short circuit. You must make the cable connection correctly. An incorrectly ordered connection damages the product.

Note 3: When charging the battery, the "430" resistance heating is normal, indicating that the equalization circuit is working; if the "430" resistor is also hot in the uncharged state, please check if the wrong line is connected.
The resistors marked 430 may heat up during charging. This is normal. If they are heating up while not charging, you may have made an incorrect connection.

Note 4: For some customers with poor electronic foundation, please explain: Do not mix good battery and poor battery! The closer the capacity/internal resistance of the 3 batteries is, the better! (The effect of 2 good batteries + 1 poor battery) = 3 use of poor battery).
For some users with an insufficient electronics background; do not use good and bad batteries together. When you use a bad battery (depleted, performance degraded), the total performance of the system drops to the level of the bad battery.
