     The DFR2V8 Wireless Charging Module is a Qi (WPC V1.2.3) compatible wireless charging transmitter board with Type-C USB input, delivering up to 15W. The board and the thin flat transmitter coil come soldered together; it is powered with 5V, 9V or 12V through the Type-C socket. The board has a red power and a blue charging indicator LED. Qi receiver devices such as wireless charging phones and earbuds cases charge when placed on the coil.

     Fast charging depends on the support of the adapter used with the module: with a 5V adapter about 5W is delivered; with a fast charging adapter supplying 9V or 12V it goes up to 15W. If the adapter cannot deliver the required power, the speeds and powers stated in the listing cannot be reached. Efficiency is between 75% - 85%.

     Because the coil is very thin, it can be built in under desks, nightstands, shelves or car consoles. It charges through non-metal materials such as wood, glass and acrylic from up to 8mm. There are mounting holes on the board and in the centre of the coil.

Usage information:

• Connect an adapter to the Type-C socket; when the red LED lights the module is ready. Place the phone on the coil so that it is centred; when charging starts the blue LED lights.
• For 15W fast charging use a fast charging adapter of at least 18W supplying 9V or 12V and a good quality, data capable Type-C cable; with a normal 5V adapter charging stays limited to 5W.
• When building into furniture, place the coil under the surface so that at most 8mm of non-metal material remains between the surface and the coil; fix the board in a ventilated place so it does not overheat.

Precautions:

•  The fast charging function depends on the support of the adapter used with the product. If the adapter cannot deliver the required power, the speeds and powers stated in the listing cannot be reached.
•  Do not place metal objects (keys, coins, metal covers, cases with metal plates) between the coil and the phone; metal heats up and charging stops.
•  Do not build the module under a metal surface; it does not charge through metal. Use materials such as wood, glass or acrylic.
•  Centre the phone on the coil; when offset, charging slows down or stops. A thick case increases the distance.
•  This module is only a transmitter; the phone must support wireless charging. Devices without support need a separate wireless charging receiver module.
•  The power the phone takes also depends on the phone: 15W is only reached by phones that support fast wireless charging. iPhone models take at most 7.5W on standard Qi charging; 15W on an iPhone needs a MagSafe or Qi2 charger, while this module is a Qi (WPC V1.2.3) transmitter.
