     The CH340E is a Full-Speed USB UART bridge IC that converts the USB bus to a UART (serial) interface. It converts the signals it receives from the computer's Usb port to UART format in hardware and provides Usb connectivity to microcontrollers or serial devices that do not have a USB interface.

     The CH340E, which comes in a 3x3mm MSOP-10 package, contains an internal crystal oscillator; this eliminates the need for an external crystal and reduces both PCB area and material cost. It is automatically recognized as a virtual COM port on Windows without the need for a driver change.

     The hardware full duplex UART interface supports communication rates from 50bps to 2Mbps and is compatible with MODEM control signals such as RTS, DTR, DCD, RI, DSR, CTS. It can operate with 3.3V or 5V supply and is energy efficient with a low current consumption of approximately 7mA. It is fully software compatible with the CH341 family, which allows existing drivers to be used directly.

     With its small size, low power consumption and easy integration features, the CH340E is an ideal solution for adding USB connectivity to MCU or sensor based projects.
