     9V Battery Box is an open top, coverless, wired plastic battery holder that holds a single 9V square battery (6F22 / PP3). The snap contacts at one end of the holder sit on the battery terminals; the latch at the rear end keeps the battery in place. The ends of the 11cm red (+9V) and black (GND) wires connected to the contacts are tinned and can be soldered directly to the circuit or connected to a terminal block.

     There are 3 mounting holes on the base of the black ABS plastic body; the holder is fixed with screws inside an enclosure, a panel or a robot chassis. With its 54mm x 30mm x 20mm size and 9gr weight it fits into small enclosures. Since the top is open, the battery is easily replaced without removing the holder. The text "9V BATTERY HOLDER" is molded on the base of the holder.

     It is used for the battery connection of devices powered by a 9V battery such as alarms, remote controls, toys, guitar effect pedals, wireless microphones, sensors and meters. Since the wires are thin, it is not suitable for loads drawing high current. The holder is delivered without a battery.

Usage information:

• Fix the holder with screws through the 3 holes in the base. Solder the red wire to the + (9V) input of the circuit and the black wire to GND, or connect them to a terminal block.
• Seat the battery first at the contact end with its terminals on the contacts, then press the rear end under the latch. To remove, lift it from the latch side.
• If the device will not be used for a long time, remove the battery or add a switch to the circuit; the holder has no on/off switch.

Precautions:

•  The wires are thin; do not power high current loads such as motors from this holder.
•  Do not reverse the polarity: the red wire is +, the black wire is - (GND). Reverse connection can damage the circuit.
•  Do not let the wire ends touch each other; a short circuit heats and drains the battery.
•  The holder has no cover and no switch; the battery is always connected to the circuit.
•  Do not hold the soldering iron on the wire ends for long; the wire insulation and the plastic body melt.
