RG316 100cm Male Female SMA Cable 1 Meter
RF Extension Cable 50 Ohm 0-6Ghz Coaxial Wifi Gsm Gprs Antenna Modem Lora Helium
This product is a 100cm (1 meter) RG316 coaxial extension cable with an SMA male connector on one end and an SMA female connector with nut (panel mount, bulkhead) on the other end. It has 50ohm impedance and works from DC to 6GHz; it carries the antenna signal in the Wifi, GSM / 4G, GPS and LoRa bands 1 meter away from the device. The connectors are gold plated, and the points where the cable enters the connectors are protected with black heat shrink tubing.
The SMA female end is made to be fixed to an enclosure or panel wall with the nut and washer on its body. The male end of the cable is plugged into the SMA female socket of the module inside the enclosure, and the antenna is connected to the female end outside. The 1 meter length suits installations where the module sits at the back of a panel or cabinet and the antenna on the top or side wall, where short cables are not enough; it is also used to move the antenna away from the device to a position with better reception.
RG316 is a thin and flexible coaxial cable with an outer diameter of about 2.5mm; it bends easily in tight enclosures. Signal loss grows with cable length: the loss of this 100cm cable is about 0.9dB at 1GHz, about 1.4dB at 2.4GHz and about 1.5dB at 3GHz. Before buying, be sure to check whether the socket on your device and antenna is SMA or RP-SMA.
Key features:
1 meter reach: The 100cm cable carries the antenna from the module inside a panel or cabinet to the enclosure wall or a point with better reception; it is used where a 50cm cable is not enough.
Panel mounted female end: The SMA female connector is fixed to the enclosure wall with a nut and washer; the antenna is moved outside the box while the cable stays fixed inside.
DC-6GHz, 50ohm: Used in 50ohm RF lines from 433MHz LoRa up to 2.4GHz Wifi; VSWR is ≤1.5.
Thin and flexible RG316: The cable with an outer diameter of about 2.5mm is easy to route in tight enclosures and cable ducts; the 100cm cable weighs 21gr.
Gold plated connectors: Gold plated contact surfaces resist oxidation; the cable entries are supported with heat shrink tubing.

Usage information:
- For panel mounting, drill a hole in the enclosure large enough for the SMA female body, pass the female end through from inside, fit the washer and nut from outside and tighten; then plug the male end into the SMA female socket of the module inside the enclosure.
- Screw the SMA connectors on by hand without cross threading and tighten with your fingers; do not overtighten with a wrench. Do not bend the cable sharply at the connector base, start the bend after the end of the heat shrink.
- Do not coil the excess of the 1 meter cable tightly; gather it in wide loops and fix it inside the enclosure with a cable tie. Choose the cable only as long as needed when extending the antenna; if the distance fits within 50cm, a shorter cable gives less loss.
Applications:
- Moving the antenna of an RF module inside an enclosure to the outside (enclosure feedthrough)
- Moving the antenna of modems and communication devices inside panels and cabinets to the top of the panel
- Wifi module and network card antenna extension
- GSM / 4G modem and GPRS module antenna connection
- Moving a GPS receiver antenna to a point with a clear sky view
- LoRa and LoRaWAN gateway, LoRa module antenna connection
- Drone telemetry and RC receiver antenna connection
- SDR receiver antenna connection
- Moving the antenna away from the device on a desktop test setup
Precautions:
- Before buying, be sure that its connectors are suitable for you. The SMA male connector has a pin in the center, the SMA female has a hole in the center. It is not compatible with RP-SMA (reverse polarity) sockets, which are common on routers and network cards.
- Loss grows with cable length. The 100cm cable loses about 1.4dB at 2.4GHz and about 2.3dB - 3dB at 5.8GHz; for 5.8GHz video transmitters and weak GPS or long range LoRa links, choose a shorter cable where possible.
- A transmitter module must be operated with an antenna connected. Running a transmitter without an antenna at the cable end can damage the output stage of some modules.
- Do not overtighten the panel nut and do not twist the cable while tightening the connector; the cable can break inside the connector.
- The panel mount female end is not waterproof; seal the enclosure entry separately outdoors.
