RG316 30cm SMA Male Male Cable
Wifi Gsm Gprs Antenna Modem Lora 0-6GHz 50 ohms Gold Plated Coaxial RF Extension Cable
The RG316 30cm Male Male is a 30cm long RF jumper cable with a centre-pin SMA male connector on both ends. It uses 50ohm RG316 coaxial cable and works from DC to 6GHz; it comes with gold plated connectors and black heat shrink sleeves at the connector ends. It is used to connect two SMA female sockets (a module, an antenna socket, test equipment or a panel adapter) to each other.
The 30cm length covers setups where the devices are further apart than a 10cm short jumper allows, with lower loss than a 50cm extension cable: the cable loss is about 0.25dB at 1GHz, about 0.45dB at 3GHz and about 0.9dB at 6GHz. The flexible cable, about 2.5mm in diameter, is easy to route inside an enclosure, and at 9.5gr it adds no load to drones and small devices.
This cable is not an antenna extension cable: since both ends are male, an SMA male antenna cannot be fitted. It is suitable for connecting the SMA female socket on a board to a bulkhead SMA female-female adapter on the enclosure wall, or to a filter, amplifier or measuring instrument. Before purchasing, make absolutely sure that the sockets are suitable for you; the product in the picture is the product that will reach you.
Key features:
Two male ends: Both ends have a centre-pin SMA male connector; it connects two SMA female sockets directly.
Medium 30cm length: Covers the distance between a board and the enclosure panel or between two devices; even at 6GHz the loss stays at about 0.9dB.
Wide frequency range: The 50ohm RG316 cable works from DC to 6GHz; it is used on GSM, 4G, GPS, LoRa, 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wifi lines.
Gold plated connectors: The gold plated SMA connectors resist oxidation and keep good contact over frequent mating.
Thin and flexible cable: The RG316 cable, about 2.5mm in outer diameter, bends easily inside tight enclosures; the connector ends are supported by heat shrink.

- Cable outer diameter: about 2.5mm
- Cable length: 30cm
- Weight: 9.5gr
Usage information:
- Align the connector straight with the socket thread and tighten the nut by hand; turn only the nut, not the cable. If needed, tighten gently with a wrench; do not overtighten.
- To bring an antenna outside the enclosure, connect the board's SMA female socket with this cable to a bulkhead SMA female-female adapter on the enclosure wall; the antenna fits on the outer end of the adapter.
- Take the cable loss into account in measurements and link budgets: about 0.4dB at 2.4GHz and about 0.9dB at 6GHz is lost along the cable.
Areas of use:
- LoRa and LoRaWAN module and gateway antenna lines
- GSM and 4G modem socket to enclosure panel antenna connection
- GPS receiver antenna line
- Wifi (2.4GHz / 5GHz) devices with SMA sockets
- Connection between SDR receivers and filters or preamplifiers
- Drone telemetry and video transmitter antenna lines
- Amplifier and filter interconnections
- Spectrum analyzer and signal generator test bench
- Bringing antennas outside the enclosure with a bulkhead SMA female-female adapter
Precautions:
- Before purchasing, make absolutely sure that the sockets are suitable for you. Both ends of this cable are SMA male; it fits only SMA female sockets.
- It is not an antenna extension cable: an SMA male antenna cannot be fitted to this cable. To extend an antenna, use an SMA male - SMA female extension cable.
- It is not compatible with RP-SMA sockets (male with a hole / female with a pin, common on home routers); do not force it into a socket that does not fit, the pin may be damaged.
- Do not bend the cable sharply at the connector end or crush it; cable loss and VSWR get worse.
