     The JX-4615-A3 is a small capacity indicator that shows the charge level of lithium (Li-ion), LiFePO4 and lead acid battery packs in the DC 5V - 30V range with a 5 LED bar. Each LED represents a 20% slice of the battery capacity; its thin black 46mm x 15mm x 3mm body fits easily on a panel, a box or on top of the battery pack. Its two wires (red +, black -) connect directly to the battery pack terminals.

     The indicator is set with a single button: first the battery type (by the colour of the 1st LED: red lithium, green LiFePO4, yellow lead acid), then the number of cells is selected. Lithium and LiFePO4 packs have 2S - 8S options, lead acid batteries have 12V and 24V options. After the setting is saved, the indicator shows the capacity according to the selected battery; it draws less than 10mA and refreshes every 500ms.

     Since the minimum operating voltage of the product is 5V, it cannot be used with 1S (single cell) batteries. You can use it to monitor the capacity of 2S - 8S battery packs and 12V / 24V lead acid batteries.

     5 LED bar in 20% steps: The LED bar with 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100% steps shows the battery charge level at a glance.

     Thin and small body: With 46mm x 15mm x 3mm dimensions it fits on an electric vehicle handlebar, a battery box or a device panel.

     Low current draw: Operating current below 10mA allows it to stay connected to the battery pack permanently; the value is refreshed every 500ms.

Usage information:

• Connect the red wire to the plus (+) and the black wire to the minus (-) terminal of the battery pack. The mode button is on the left side of the product; long and short presses open, select and save the settings. The setting menu has 2 stages: battery type in the 1st stage, number of cells in the 2nd stage.
• Battery type selection: Hold the mode button for 2s, the 1st LED starts blinking. Each short press changes the colour of the 1st LED: red LED is for lithium (Li-ion), green LED for LiFePO4, yellow LED for lead acid batteries. When the right colour appears, hold for 2s; the cell count menu opens.
• Cell count selection: Following the table in the product images, short press the button to change the state of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th LEDs (e.g. for lithium only the 2nd LED is 2S, only the 3rd LED is 3S; for lead acid only the 2nd LED is 12V, only the 3rd LED is 24V). When the state matches your battery, hold the button for 2s to save; the indicator starts showing the capacity.
• If the button is not used for 5s while in the setting menu, the indicator leaves the setting mode automatically.
• Outside the set battery voltage range the LEDs do not light at all; this shows a wrong setting. In this case hold the button for 2s: if you can enter the menu the product works, set it again.

Precautions:

•  The operating voltage is 5V - 30V. Voltage above this range may damage the product. The FULLY CHARGED voltage of the battery pack must not exceed 30V: e.g. an 8S lithium (Li-ion) pack reaches 33.6V when full and exceeds the 30V limit.
•  Since the minimum operating voltage is 5V, it cannot be used with 1S (single cell) batteries.
•  Select the battery type and cell count correctly; with a wrong setting the indicator shows a wrong percentage or does not light at all.
•  The product is not waterproof; do not use it unprotected outdoors or in wet or humid environments.
•  The indicator shows an approximate capacity based on voltage; under load (while a motor runs) the voltage drops, so the level may appear lower momentarily.
