     Hanrun HY911108H is a single port (1x1) RJ45 Ethernet socket with a built-in Ethernet transformer (magnetics) and two indicator LEDs. It is made for 10/100Base-TX Ethernet lines; the 8P8C female socket is right angled at 90 degrees (R/A), so the cable enters parallel to the board surface. The socket is soldered to the board by through hole (THT) mounting; it is used as a single part instead of a separate transformer and indicator LED.

     What sets this model apart from similar sockets with transformer are the spring grounding fingers on the top and sides of the metal shield shell. When the socket rests against the front panel of the device enclosure, these fingers touch the metal panel, connect the shield to the enclosure ground and improve protection against external interference. The plastic body is grey; the green and yellow LEDs on the front are connected to the link and activity outputs of the Ethernet IC and show the status of the line. The socket has no panel mounting ears and is held on the board only by its legs.

Usage information:

• Connect the TX and RX line pairs of the Ethernet IC and the LED legs according to the pinout in the Hanrun HY911108H datasheet; since the transformer is inside the socket, do not use a separate transformer on the board.
• When fitting the board into the enclosure, align the front of the socket with the panel opening; leave no gap between the socket and the panel so that the spring grounding fingers touch the metal panel.

Precautions:

•  The socket is for 10/100Base-TX; it is not used in Gigabit (1000Mbps) Ethernet circuits.
•  There is no PoE support; do not use it in circuits that receive or supply power over the cable.
•  The pinout of sockets with transformer differs from model to model. The transformer pin order of HR911105A (P1-P2 TX pair, P4 centre tap) and its LED hole spacing differ from this socket, so the two cannot be swapped directly. Before fitting it in place of another socket with transformer or an RJ45 without transformer, check in the datasheet that the pinout and board footprint are the same.
•  Do not heat the legs for a long time while soldering; excessive heat can damage the plastic body and the LEDs inside.
