     This product is a 1 meter long red - black test cable pair with a 4mm banana plug at one end and a 28mm crocodile (alligator) clip at the other end. The red and black conductors run side by side in a bonded (twin) cable and separate near the ends; so the two cables do not scatter on the bench and the positive and negative lines are carried together. It is used for at most 100V voltage and 2A current.

     The banana plugs fit the standard 4mm sockets of multimeters, power supplies and measuring instruments. The plug body has a cross hole and a small screw that clamps the cable. The rear part of the crocodile clips is covered with a colored plastic boot, and the toothed jaws grip thin wires, component leads, battery terminals and terminal block screws. With its thin and light build it is suitable for bench measurement, low current supply and quick temporary connections; it is not suitable for high current or mains voltage; for high current the 12A 1000V crocodile banana cable pair, for mains voltage a fully insulated (shrouded plug) measuring cable should be preferred.

Key features:

     Bonded red black cable: The two conductors are joined along their length; the positive and negative lines do not get mixed up and the cables do not tangle on the bench. Near the ends they separate and can be connected to two different points.

     Standard 4mm banana plug: It plugs directly into the 4mm banana sockets of multimeters, power supplies and measuring instruments. The small screw on the plug body fixes the cable to the plug.

     28mm crocodile clip: The small, toothed clip grips thin wires, component leads and battery terminals; a colored plastic boot covers the part held by hand.

     Light and flexible: The cable pair weighs 30gr in total; it does not pull the instrument or the circuit during measurement and takes little space in a bag.

     Color coded pair: Red is used for positive and black for negative (GND); it prevents polarity mix-ups in measurement and supply.

Usage information:

• Push the banana plugs fully into the 4mm sockets of the device: plug the red one into the positive (+) or measuring socket and the black one into the negative (COM / GND) socket.
• Attach the crocodile clip to the point to be measured or to the input of the circuit to be supplied. Switch the device on after making sure the clip does not slip and touch a neighboring point.
• When removing the cable pull it by the plug; pulling by the cable loosens the connection inside the plug.

Precautions:

•  This cable is for at most 100V and 2A. Do not use it for mains voltage (220V) measurement or for supplying high current loads; use a 1000V class, fully insulated measuring cable for those jobs.
•  The toothed jaw of the crocodile clip is bare. When attaching or removing the clip on a live circuit make sure it does not touch neighboring points; it may cause a short circuit.
•  When measuring current with a multimeter check which socket the red plug is in; measuring voltage while it is in the current socket blows the fuse.
•  Do not rub the cable on sharp edges or touch it with a hot soldering tip; the plastic jacket melts.
