     The MR30 Connector Female Male Pair is an oval bodied power connector with its 3 contacts lined up side by side in a single row. It is mostly used to connect the 3 phases of a brushless motor to the ESC (motor driver). It carries 15A continuous and 30A short-term current; the contacts are 2mm diameter gold plated brass. The package contains 1 male, 1 female socket and 2 protective caps covering the solder points.

     The body is heat resistant nylon (PA) plastic with UL94 V-0 flammability rating and operates between -20°C - 120°C. Because the body shape is asymmetric, the socket only fits in the correct direction; reverse connection and mixed phases are prevented. The rear end of the contacts is a half open solder cup; 16AWG - 20AWG wire is easily soldered, then the protective cap is slid over the solder points.

     Unlike the 2 pin XT30 and the triangular bodied 3 pin MT30 with the same 2mm contact size, the MR30 carries its 3 contacts in a single row and comes with protective caps. It is used for motor-ESC connections and 3 wire power and signal lines in drones, quadcopters, RC airplanes, helicopters, EDF jets, model cars and boats.

Usage information:

• Slide the protective cap onto the wire before soldering. Solder the contacts while they are plugged into a spare mating connector; this keeps the contacts from shifting inside the heated body.
• On a brushless motor, soldering the male socket to the motor side and the female socket to the ESC side is the common layout. If the motor turns in the wrong direction, swap two phase wires on the ESC side.
• After soldering, push the cap over the solder points; no bare solder or contact should remain.

Precautions:

•  Do not exceed 15A in continuous use; 30A is only for short-term (peak) current. These values depend on wire size and cooling.
•  MR30 does not mate with XT30 or MT30; make sure the connector on the other side is also MR30.
•  Do not heat the body for a long time while soldering; contacts may stay crooked in melted plastic.
•  Do not separate the connector by pulling the wire; hold the body and pull straight.
