     MT30 is a 3 pin female and male connector pair. Each pin is a 2mm gold plated brass contact; the connector carries 15A continuous and 30A peak current; the manufacturer rated voltage is DC 80V. Because the three pins are combined in one housing, the three phase wires of a brushless motor are plugged into the ESC in one move; replacing and repairing motors becomes easy.

     The housing is triangular and fits in one direction only; wrong pin matching and short circuits are prevented. The rear end of the pins has a half open solder cup, wires up to 16AWG can be soldered. The two plastic protective caps included are pushed over the solder joints and leave no bare metal. The yellow insulating housing is heat resistant plastic; the connector works between -20°C - 120°C.

     The difference from the two pin XT30 is the third pin: MT30 is mainly used for brushless motor - ESC connections, and also for three wire battery and extension connections. It is preferred for motor connections in drone arms, RC airplanes, EDF jets, model cars and boats.

     Easy soldering and protective cap: Wires up to 16AWG are soldered into the half open solder cup; the plastic protective cap covers the solder joint.

     Heat resistant housing: The PA (nylon) insulating housing is UL94 V-0 flame rated and works between -20°C - 120°C.

Usage information:

• Slide the protective cap onto the wire before soldering. Strip the wire ends to the length of the solder cup and tin them, tin the solder cup of the pin as well and solder the wire inside the cup. After the solder cools, push the cap over the solder joint.
• Keep the pins mated with the opposite connector while soldering; the pin alignment is kept and the housing does not deform from the heat.
• For motor - ESC connections choose the same male and female side for every motor (e.g. female on the ESC side); spare motors plug in directly. If the motor turns the wrong way, swap any two phase wires.

Precautions:

•  Continuous current is 15A; 30A is only for short peak current. Use a larger connector for motors and batteries drawing continuous high current.
•  Wire thicker than 16AWG does not fit into the solder cup; choose the wire size accordingly.
•  Do not hold the soldering iron on the pin for long; the plastic housing softens at excessive heat and the pin may shift.
•  Use the female connector on the battery side; exposed male pins can cause a short circuit.
•  MT30 is not compatible with the two pin XT30 and XT60 connectors.
