     The XT60 Y Connector is a Y type (fork) splitter cable that connects two batteries of the same voltage in parallel and combines them into a single XT60 output. One end of the cable has 1 female XT60 socket and the two branches have 2 male XT60 sockets; the branches are made of 10cm (100mm) long 16AWG silicone wire. The ends come factory soldered and insulated with heat shrink tubing, so the user connects without soldering.

     When two batteries are connected in parallel the voltage stays the same and the capacity adds up: for example two 2200mAh 11.1V 3S batteries work like a single 4400mAh 11.1V battery with this cable. This roughly doubles the running time of a drone, RC vehicle or robot. For this, both batteries must have the same voltage, cell count and charge-discharge ratings.

     The yellow XT60 housings are polarised; the socket only fits in the correct direction. The red wire is the positive (+) line and the black wire is the negative (-) line. It is used in drones, quadcopters, FPV, RC airplanes, helicopters, cars and boats whose batteries have XT60 sockets.

Usage information:

• First measure the voltage of both batteries; they must have the same cell count and voltages very close to each other (fully charged or at the same charge level). Then plug the two male ends into the XT60 sockets of the batteries and the female end into the ESC or device.
• Charge the batteries separately after use and keep them at the same charge-discharge ratings; do not use batteries of different age or capacity together.
• When unplugging, pull by the yellow XT60 housing, not by the wire; the solder joints and heat shrink are not damaged.

Points to consider:

•  Both batteries must have the same voltage and cell count. If two batteries with different voltages are connected in parallel, a high current flows between them; the battery may heat up and be damaged.
•  This cable is for parallel connection only; it is not used for series connection (increasing voltage).
•  The wire gauge is 16AWG; the recommended continuous current is 10A maximum. Use thicker wire for motors and ESCs drawing higher current.
•  Check the socket gender: this cable has 2 male and 1 female ends. Systems whose batteries have male XT60 sockets need a Y cable with 1 male and 2 female ends. The gender is named after the metal contacts, not the plastic housing: the end with pins is male, the end with sockets is female; LiPo batteries usually have a female XT60.
•  Check that the positive (+) and negative (-) ends match correctly before connecting; a short circuit damages the battery and the device.
