     This product is a green printed circuit board (PCB) type internal antenna for GSM / GPRS / 3G devices. It works in the 800MHz - 960MHz and 1710MHz - 2170MHz bands (800-2170MHz); gain is 3dBi and impedance is 50ohm. At the end of the 14cm long 1.13mm thin coaxial cable soldered to the antenna board there is an IPEX1 (U.FL / MHF1 compatible) connector; it plugs directly into GSM modules with an IPEX socket such as SIM800L, SIM800C, SIM900 and SIM808.

     Since it is a flat, thin board, it is placed inside the device enclosure, on the inner face of the lid or side wall; no rod antenna sticking out of the case is needed. It fits next to the module in vehicle trackers, alarm panels, meter readers and SMS controlled devices. The GSM band is different from the 2.4GHz Wifi band: similar looking black 2.4GHz board antennas do not work efficiently on a GSM module, and this antenna does not work efficiently on a Wifi card.

     14cm 1.13mm cable: Long enough to place the antenna away from the module, on a non-metal wall of the enclosure.

Usage information:

• Align the IPEX connector exactly over the socket on the module and press it straight down until it clicks. Do not pull by the cable when removing; lift the connector with a fingernail or a fine tipped tool. IPEX connectors are not suitable for frequent plugging and unplugging.
• Fix the antenna board to a plastic wall of the enclosure with double sided tape or hot glue; do not stick it on metal surfaces, batteries or on top of the module. Avoid sharp bends in the cable.
• An internal antenna does not work in a metal enclosure; for metal enclosures use an external SMA socket GSM antenna and an IPEX - SMA extension cable.

Precautions:

•  The connector is IPEX1 (U.FL) type; it does not plug directly into an SMA socket module, an IPEX - SMA cable is needed. It does not fit the smaller IPEX4 (MHF4) socket on some newer modules.
•  The antenna is for GSM and 3G bands; it is not used on 2.4GHz Wifi / Bluetooth modules or GPS receivers. No seller value is given for 4G (LTE); it does not cover the 2600MHz band.
•  3dBi is a seller value; the efficiency of an internal antenna depends on the enclosure material and placement. In weak signal areas an external rod antenna gives better results.
•  If the antenna board is stuck on a metal surface, a battery or a copper ground area, the signal drops noticeably.
