Pulse Heart Rate Measurement Sensor
3V 5V Optical Finger Heartbeat BPM Meter Photoplethysmography PPG Heart Rhythm Arduino
The product does not make stable measurements. Its performance is not good during the measurement and transmission of the analog signal. The results need to be cleaned with software filters.
The Pulse Sensor is a small sized module that performs instant heart rate measurement from the fingertip or earlobe by optical method. It works with a supply between Dc 3V-5V. It works according to the photoplethysmography (PPG) principle: the LED on it sends light under the skin, the photodiode measures the reflected light and produces a pulse signal by detecting the change in blood volume in the capillaries. The op-amp and RC filter circuit behind it amplifies the signal and clears it of noise. It is a plug-and-play module with analog output that can be used directly with Arduino and other microcontrollers. It can be used in health monitoring, wearable devices, sports/entertainment applications, education and hobby projects.
Attention:
- It is recommended to fix the sensor on the finger or ear for accurate measurement.
- Do not raise the supply voltage excessively (especially above 5V).
- On microcontrollers such as Arduino, analog readings give more stable results with filtering.
