     USB-LOGO is an optically isolated programming cable compatible with Siemens 6ED1057-1AA01-0BA0 that connects Siemens LOGO series PLCs (smart relay / mini controller) to a computer. One end has a USB-A plug for the computer, the other end has a square connector that plugs into the programming slot on the front of the LOGO module; there is about 3m of cable between the two ends.

     When plugged into the computer the cable creates a virtual COM port; this COM port is selected in LOGO!Soft Comfort for program download, upload and monitoring. It needs no external supply; it is powered from the USB port and the programming port of the LOGO. The 1000VDC optical isolation on the signal path protects the USB port of the computer and the programming port of the LOGO in noisy field environments.

     Optical isolation: There is 1000VDC optical isolation between the computer and the LOGO side. Noise and ground differences inside the control panel are not carried to the computer, and the programming port is protected.

     No external supply needed: The cable is powered from the USB port and the programming port of the LOGO; it is used in the field with a laptop without an adapter, battery or extra power supply.

     Easy setup with COM port: After the CH341SER driver is installed the cable appears as a COM port on the computer; the connection is made by selecting this port in LOGO!Soft Comfort.

     Long cable: About 3m of cable is enough to keep the computer in a comfortable place away from the control panel while its door is open.

Usage information:

• Install the CH341SER driver (CH341ser.exe) on the computer, then plug the cable into a USB port. Note the COM number given to the cable under "Ports (COM & LPT)" in Device Manager.
• Remove the cover of the programming slot on the front of the LOGO module (or the memory / battery card fitted in the slot) and plug the square connector fully into the slot.
• In LOGO!Soft Comfort select the COM port given to the cable in the interface settings; then download the program to the LOGO or read it from the LOGO.

Precautions:

•  This product is a cable compatible with Siemens 6ED1057-1AA01-0BA0; it is not an original Siemens product.
•  The cable is for LOGO modules with a covered square programming slot on the front (e.g. 0BA6). LOGO! 0BA7 and LOGO! 8 (0BA8) communicate with a PC only over Ethernet; the cable cannot be used on these modules. Check the end of the order number (0BAx) on the front of your LOGO before buying.
•  Without the driver the cable does not appear as a COM port. The COM number selected in LOGO!Soft Comfort must match the number in Device Manager.
•  Do not insert the square connector at an angle or by force; the pins of the programming slot may be damaged.
